Another little "goodie" you can stick in there for troubleshooting purposes is the undocumented "enableallclients" directive. Very usefull for troubleshooting...turn that on, then you should be able to fire up a "dsmadmc -consolemode" session on the client end, to see what's happening. -Lloyd

Dale, Yes the NSM's are the only IBM Boxes that we have but we have now started to move forward on Sun TSM Servers connected to 3494 Libraries. At the moment we have 5 NSM's and 4 TSM Sun Servers. Admittedly the Sun Servers are a higher spec but the performance is exceptional compared to the NSM.

chris, I think using the win client sets the nodes filespaces to unicode enabled within the tsm internal database. This causes your error. you can reset the client only using the "non documented" SET RECORD method. ( This manipulates the internal db and should only be used on IBM/Tivoli advice.)
