Flash sent 02/25/2002 - - Service Updates to RSCT Problem Description: When customers are doing service updates to PSSP 3.2 and PSSP 3.4, the RSCT V1.2.x filesets are not being updated which is leading to pervasive problems due to PTF set mismatches between PSSP and RSCT. This problem is due to the fact that RSCT is now in a separate service build environment and is no longer packaged with PSSP 3.2 or PSSP 3.4. This problem has become more apparent when customers have upgraded PSSP 3.2 to PTF set 11 or higher. In PTF set 11, PSSP 3.2 requires RSCT 1.2.1 rather than RSCT 1.2.0. Solution: When installing the latest service for PSSP 3.2 and PSSP 3.4 ensure you have also install the latest service for RSCT 1.2.1 or RSCT 2.2.0. If you are updating PSSP 3.2 to PTF Set 11 or higher apply RSCT APAR IY20220. If you are upgrading to PSSP 3.4 apply RSCT APAR IY25008. 02/19/2002 - Re-issue of flash sent 02/13/2002 - - AIX Service Upgrade (ML09) for 4.3.3 Breaks SP Switch PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The AIX 4.3.3 APAR, IY27184 (which is in bos.net.tcp.client 4.3.3.79), will cause IP over the SP switch and SP switch 2 to fail. When this problem happens IP traffic over the switch will no longer work (applications such as ping, telnet, and ftp will fail). This issue only occurs in AIX 4.3.3. AIX 5.1 is NOT affected as previously stated in a earlier release of this flash. RECOMMENDED ACTION: This problem can be resolved by backing-off the AIX APAR IY27184 or by applying the AIX fix for this problem. SOLUTION: AIX APAR IY28410 has been created to address this problem. It is recommended that customers do not apply IY27184 until the fix for IY28410 is also available. If IY27184 is applied before the fix for IY28410 can be ordered, then IY27184 should be backed-off. The PSSP APAR IY28264 is being cancelled in order to avoid having to force requisites between AIX and PSSP service levels. There are no problems with the Efix that was briefly provided for IY28264 for customers running with IY27184 applied, but this efix will need to be backed off once the final AIX fix for this issue, IY28410, is applied, It is recommended that switch customers do not apply IY27184 until the fix for IY28410 is available.
