This sounds like a problem that I worked on. Not sure of the APAR at this
time. Will have to check in the morning. It depends on when the error
was generated. This problem happens when a process is writing to tape and
that tape reaches its EOT mark prior to all the data that needs to be
writen

Hi All,
I agree that it is painful when the documentation is not clear or simply
not there.
This concept is at least brought out in the TSM implementation course.
Exclude.dir still makes sense when you know that anything listed in this
is taken out of the 'traverse list'. That is, any files in

Thanks Keith:
The manual I was looking at was for windows which doesn't mention anything

It would make sense to me if the exclude option would exclude files from all

Good Day Sir,
There has never been support for Informix on HPUX. However announcment
299-281 on IBMLink states that there is intent to release a 64 bit TDP for
Informix on HPUX in a forthcomming release. Unfortunatly I can not be
specific on what release that will be in.

The Exclude.archive is a welcome feature, but we tend to have to duplicate

Is there a way to exclude a file from both backups and archives with one

We're currently using BMR under AIX. Our environment is complicated by the
fact that we use DCE/DFS. BMR is slick. I'm currently trying to get our NT

testing BMR, we found several things w

You might try checking these volumes into a library and then run q content
on them. That or an audit volume. However if the volhist states they are
STGDELETE then most likly they were data volumes that once belonged to a
storage pool, but were eather deleted, or all the data on them were
expired

That is correct. New TSM clients add extended table entries to the TSM
Server DB that prohibit earlier clients from restoring data with thoughs
changes. However the TSM client does not have to reprocess any of the
older data. It is recommened that you test a new client release prior to

Hello,
I have some DLT tapes in a cabinet but I'm not sure what these contain.
The tapes are unknown to ADSM (3.1), e.g. "q vol", "q drm", "q media"
produce no results.
Some of them have an entry in the volume history, where their status is
"STGDELETE",
which might indicate that they are old DB

As you use BRMS/400 as media management, you have to define the user exit to

Jacques,
Cannot answer your question, but thought I would pass on our experience with

runs on that platform also. I had previous experience with ADS

If you are getting the descriptions "AAA0 -AAA4" in your errpt it means you need to
reinstall your Atape.driver. There are some problems with installing some S/W
products AFTER you have installed Atape.driver (even just another fileset will do
it.) This is sort of a known problem
Couldn't you just restore from the database backup prior to the error? Provided
of course that you do a daily database backup.

My experience has been that once I cleared up the cause of the problem, as in a
tape drive error, that the ANRD messages did not reoccur. Once the ANRD
occurred without any other obvious errors and working with support I found that I
need a patch. I suggest you fix the tape drive error a

Hi Ken
I successfully passed this examination last week and I found useful to know
the Administration Guide 3.7 or 4.1.
There are some classes about TSM 4.1 like Implementation,Advanced

Implementation is easy, Advanced and DRM are very huge.
