[Bug 134754] Re: hp scanjet 4200C crashes (x)sane

2008-12-11 Thread corrado venturini
to me it works fine at 150 and 300 but hangs at 600.
ubuntu 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-9-generic. GNOME 2.24.1. xsane Installed:
0.995-3ubuntu2
but i don't see the box-option color in color management panel
(according xsane site should be immediately over 'full color range' option)
another problem: the viewer window get the whole screen and can not be reduced
if I enable visual effects 'normal',
the problem disappears with visual effects 'none' - NVIDIA driver version 177

[Bug 1917324] Re: right click on desktop 'open in terminal' option missing

2021-03-03 Thread corrado venturini
as I said above if gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng is activated the
option appears.
but 'open in terminal' does not use an icon on desktop but just opens a
terminal, and ctrl+alt+t works fine to open the the terminal also if
gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng is not activated.

Sorry, in the 1st screen simple-scan proposed 'HP DeskJet_2600_series' an I
accepted this, if I change and select the other one simple-scan works fine.

simple-scan 3.36.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.0 distributed with Ubuntu 20.04 where
only 'HP DeskJet_2600_series' is available.

2020-12-08 Thread corrado venturini
The second option for the scanner appears also in Ubuntu 20.04 after running
hp-doctor and so simple scan works also on Ubuntu 20.04.
BEFORE running hp-doctor I see the attached screenshot where if I click on the
small arrow near 'HP Deskjet..' I DO NOT SEE the second option.

Now from a different installation on same PC (but NO hp-doctor was run)
starting simple-scan I see the 1st window, I click on the small arrow near 'HP
Deskjet..' I DO NOT SEE the second option (as in 2nd window) I click on 'Scan'
and see the message in the 3rd picture.
Here in attachment the pictures, will attach simple-scan log in the next
comment.

On a new install from Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Alpha amd64 (20201207)
with
corrado@corrado-x5-hh-1207:~$ apt policy simple-scan
simple-scan:

simple-scan works fine; printer was connected and power-on during installation.

On a different new install on same PC from the same ISO with the printer
NOT connected at installation I had to run hp-doctor to solve the
problem.
