The second option for the scanner appears also in Ubuntu 20.04 after running hp-doctor and so simple scan works also on Ubuntu 20.04. BEFORE running hp-doctor I see the attached screenshot where if I click on the small arrow near 'HP Deskjet..' I DO NOT SEE the second option.
