[Bug 1182205] Re: totem freezes after changing/disabling subtitle on mp4 files.
It would happen with MKV, too. Changing subtile seems to be OK. When I turn off subtitle, it would happen. I hope someone fix it ASAP. I though you can reproduce theis situation very easily. I have 3 ubuntu computer and it would happen on all of them 100% and everytime. You just need to click nzb download link twice then it would crash. It is not limited to a specific file. It can happen to any WMV file possibly even AVI file. If you drug any WMV file and drop into TOTEM, it would happen. I have the same version. It won't happen every time. It occasionally happens. When you play a movie, do you double-click and play? If you do, please drug and drop a folder, folders, a file or files to play every time when you play. It will happen. Since I am avoiding this issue, I have not encounter this issue for awhile. If you had very good CPU, it may not occur. When it happens, the mouse icon stays hand mark without folder name therefore the process does not seem to be catching up. Because this is a fatal issue and it happens all the sudden, I did not want to reproduce but now I probably can kill the process without reseting, thanks to Mahendra Tallur, so that I will try to make bugtracker. By the way, If you click and drug a folder with single video such as WMV or AVI file into TOTEM, would it play? You are right. I was upset because I wasted at least 5 DVDs. And I am glad I caught it before I delete the original. Today I just started to use K3B. It is awesome. I found they still have some user interface bugs but it seems to be reliable. I guess I will stay away from Brasero for now. Thank you for your help. I hope they will fix it soon. Thomas, Thank you for your response. Bad DVD is like this. When I see folders, files and size, it appears to be good. But when I open it, it does not open. I found out that some of them are OK. When I burnt bunch of JPG most of are bad. When I burnt few AVI big files, only one file out of seven files was bad. I am suspecting burning speed might be related. when I had ubuntu 10.04, it was awfully slow to burn but it worked. Maybe my kernel, etc. might be bad. However xfburn was working fine. Yesterday Brasero did not work at all so I installed xfburn. Today Brasero is working somewhat. It made some improvement. I hope you can fix it soon. I tried 12X and Auto max. Both did not work. I tried other AVI and MKV files they seem to be OK. However MKV files are not viewable on ubuntu so I have not checked completely yet. When I have a lot(4Gb) of jpg files, it seems to have a problem. What should I do next? By the way, you could fix mounting warning right away, couldn't you? Since it ejects automatically, it loose connection to DVD so mounting error occurs. First of all this new downgraded nautilus folder section holds its width and I cannot even change the width at all. Then when I go deep down lower folders or open folder with long name, it would squeeze down the "Name" part and I cannot even see names anymore. Then when I go up to upper folder or root, I cannot see the names anymore becaue location column takes up all the space. Once I click one of the unseen folder, I may see the names again. The developpers must have extremely wide monitors. My regular computer monitor for documents is 90 degree turned so it would have been horrible but very luckly I did not upgrade it. This is very tricky to avoid the problem. If you release nautilus as a game, it would be great because it is very difficult. Right now, I have to open the target folder as a new tub then I can move a file to the folder tab because I can move a mouse fast enough or it would not require scroll. The many new specs seem to be completely wrong. This is simple GUI behavior problem. Nothing to do with environment. 4.1, 7.1 or any hardware, it does not matter as long as x.1 wich is with subwoofer environment. I have to change mode to whatever different such as 7.1 or something then subwoofer would come back.
