[Bug 298263] [NEW] myspell-el-gr misses symbolic links for .aff and .dic
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: myspell-el-gr >From what I have seen all the myspell-* packages have .aff and .dic file >installed in /usr/share/myspell/dicts. Fro example the myspell-en-us package includes en_US.aff and en_US.dic files. Also, includes two symbolic links as en-US.aff->en_US.aff en-US.dic->en_US.dic I have seen this convention also to other packages (it-IT, es-ES, en-GB, etc). I am not sure why it is done exactly, but I guess the convention should be followed also for myspell-el-gr package ** Affects: myspell-el-gr (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- myspell-el-gr misses symbolic links for .aff and .dic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298263 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 145377] Re: Powertop reports huge number of wakeups under gutsy and drains battery
Try putting the pcmcia and yenta_socket modules in the blacklist [ In the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist append blacklist pcmcia blacklist yenta_socket ] and reboot. Don't try unloading them, you need to not load them at all. This will obviously disable pcmcia, but if you don't use it then you will save power. If you want to use it once in a while just load the modules by hand [ sudo modprobe pcmcia yenta_socket]. I will do some search to see what is the exact module to blame (these ones depend on others) -- Powertop reports huge number of wakeups under gutsy and drains battery https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145377 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 145377] Re: Powertop reports huge number of wakeups under gutsy and drains battery
I wrote a script to see which are the modules loaded. The module to blame should be one of these pcmcia 41388 0 pcmcia_core40980 3 pcmcia,yenta_socket,rsrc_nonstatic rsrc_nonstatic 14080 1 yenta_socket yenta_socket 27532 1 So, what I need you to do is to make a boot with the usual blacklists and then load the modules one by one using sudo modprobe module_name where module_name each time one of these: yenta_socket rsrc_nonstatic pcmcia pcmcia_core Please use this order (or at least make sure pcmcia_core is the last one and rsrc_nonstatic after yenta_socket). So the process is: * Boot with the blacklists * You load the first module * Wait some time (e.g. 10 minutes) to see if it increases the wakeups * If not, you load the second one, you wait, etc * When you find the module to blame just let us know here to forward the bug to the appropriate place. I hope the instructions are clear. The problem persists in 7.10 What is strange is that I have a package pinned in synaptic, but if I press mark all upgrades then that specific package is selected for upgrade. [Bug 432701] Re: amarok missing dependency
>From here http://www.ubuntu.com/community/ubuntustory/components: The main distribution component contains applications that are free software, can freely be redistributed and are fully supported by the Ubuntu team. This includes the most popular and most reliable open source applications available, much of which is installed by default when you install Ubuntu. The package libxine1-ffmpeg is in main, so it can become a strong dependency of libxine1 which will resolve this usability bug. If you think libxine1-ffmpeg should not be in the main component (which could be true) then you need to file a new bug in order to have it moved to restricted, but we need an official/"legal" answer to this. [Bug 432701] Re: amarok missing dependency
I am aware of the whole problem with the patents and it is a known issue for years that has included also mplayer etc etc. But, as I see it, the question is this: if these libraries cannot be freely distributed they should not be in main. If they can be there is no problem to include them as dependencies and ship them in the live cd. I insist that either way, we have a bug here and IMHO if the first is the case is much more serious than if it the second one. It is a matter of what gets defined as "freely distributed" for ubuntu and main should reflect this. -- amarok missing dependency https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to amarok in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 256419] Re: pidgin-plugin-pack needs updating
Is there someone who would like to take up official sponsorship of this package in debian? I am asking here because the last contributors of the package in ubuntu are already subsribed and probably they would be the firsts to be interested. If someone wants and has the time and the will to take care of it, it would be great; I could also provide some guidance if needed. [Bug 232358] Re: Read Message function misbehaves
In order to change the upstream version of a program someone has to be the author of it and make an official release. Since, I just a user and the (hopefully the future) official maintainer I cannot do that. Since, the project seems dead, I could try to adopt it upstream but I am not sure about the procedure needed to do so. First I want to publish and test my new package (with all the fixes in place) and check that everything works. Then I could try to see what could be done for the upstream situation. As a bottom line, it is not a problem the fact that I cannot change the upstream version, the packages will have debian versions attached -- Read Message function misbehaves https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/232358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 499884] Re: vino-preferences over ssh -X
I think I found a solution: After connecting to the remote machine try this command DISPLAY=:0 vino-preferences --display $DISPLAY I guess vino-preferences read the $DISPLAY variable for the desktop to refer to and the --display option for the desktop to send the window. Personally, I would expect it to be the other way round (and always in the local server starting from the lower X-server number), but at least this is a solution that works for now. -- vino-preferences over ssh -X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/499884 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 499884] Re: vino-preferences over ssh -X
By the way, I guess vino-preferences gets confused because the DISPLAY command includes localhost but does not point to the local X server, just to the ssh forwarding tunnel.
