In the past it worked as intended, it started behaving like this after a certain pidgin version around 2.0 Solution: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1945780&group_id=121046&atid=689098 I created a patch to tackle this problem (also attached) Is there any possibility to be included as a patch in the debian package (and possibly forwarded upstream, if there is anyone in the official page still dealing with the project).
