[Bug 1426609] Re: windows jitter after scrolling

2016-08-18 Thread Jacob Maher
I can explain further,

When scrolling in a window, the window would sometimes scroll by a few
extra lines after you had stopped, this would cause the content at the
top of the window (that would be scrolling up) in that particular area
to be drawn as a white box as well as the content at the bottom of the
window you are receiving would do the same until you mouse over it.

I cannot reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 16.04 using Nvidia's 364 drivers on
unity 7.4 or Gnome Shell.
I have also changed my mouse since the bug report was submitted.

Either this is likely the fault of my previous hardware or it has been
fixed somewhere in the 15.x releases.

I don't know how the process officially works from here but I think this
is safe to close.

[Bug 1716077] [NEW] Settings app draws window controls incorrectly

2017-09-08 Thread Jacob Maher
Public bug reported:

When changing window controls to the left side. Gnome control center
will not draw them correctly. the controls are drawn on the middle of
the window instead of the left. I have made this change by setting
/org/gnome/desktop/wm/preferences/button-layout to
'close, minimize, maximize:appmenu' in dconf-editor. this issue is not
present if the window controls remain on the right hand side.

[Bug 1437814] [NEW] artifacting in some apps

2015-03-29 Thread Jacob Maher
Public bug reported:

The Problem:

Some Gnome Shell applications do not display as the should. the best
example is the Displays dailog in Gnome Control Centre which ive
attached in an image where the background is black instead of white In
most of the settings ( possibly all , i did not check). also in many CSD
using apps there are small black triangles in the top corners where the
window edges have been rounded ( also visible in the attachment)

My OS version (lsb_release -rd):
Description:Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (development branch)
Release:15.04

The Package version:
Installed: 14.04+15.04.20150320-0ubuntu1

What is supposed to happen:
It appears the corners are intended to be rounded and there to be no black bits
around the edges.
The background of the settings Dialgues should be white like the main menu of
Gnome Control Center

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04

[Bug 1500673] Re: gdm unusable after upgrading to 15.10

2015-11-28 Thread Jacob Maher
I found this bug after trying to swap to GDM on ubuntu 15.10. I have overcome
it thanks to people working through this.
It seems that whatever the `ubuntu-gnome-default-settings` package does seems
to help also un-comment-ing `WaylandEnable=false` in /etc/gdm/custom.conf is
what needs to be done about it

The latter may only be because I use NVIDIA proprietary drivers
