Re: [Bug 253854] Re: Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging
Yes, True... compiling Qt it takes too long... so... there must be a solution and the one is to have Phonon from Qt separated from KDE. Re: [Bug 253854] Re: Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging
I' have installed that package in my current Intrepid, which works ok. But there is problems with which backend to use. For example in my application i capture video streaming using Phonon, and this does not work using Xine, which is default backend in KDE. So my chooise is gstreamer... but this backend has some problems with KDE applications... like, a simple example: Amarok2 will not reproduce radio streamings URL using gstreamer. And maybe for sure exist others problems (and i have all gstreamer packages installed...). So i think is not the solution. Qt should handle the backends for Qt applications (and related bindings). To not mix with KDE phonon. 2009/2/24 Jonathan Riddell > PyQt has python-qt4-phonon in jaunty. > > I am considering switching phonon to being built from Qt but it's a big > change for post-feature freeze so I'd be reluctant. Re: [Bug 253854] Re: Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging
Guys... this should be fixed please... Actually PyQt does not find Phonon since is not install in the property dirs (that is, not inside Qt)... Or, you should include a phonon module in PyQt4.4.x packages... I am using intrepid and i cant install the libphonon i've created from Qt4, i've installed the one that comes from the OS, but PyQt does not find it to compile. Cheers... 2008/9/19 Gustavo A. [Bug 253854] [NEW] Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging
Public bug reported: This is related more to the source package of Qt4 (qt4-x11-4.4.0) The problem is, I need (and is needed to develop...) the libphonon from the Qt4 package (not the one from kde...). So, i've tried to download the source package, then i've change the debian rules files, and in configure part replaced -no-phonon for -phonon and the compilation goes great, but fails at the end building the package (using dpkg-buildpackage). For sure i am missing some thing in debian rules to fix this, but i am not a MOTU or expert building packages only i have a base and really I dont need to be a pro here... I only need that lib enabled in Qt4 compilation (and compiling Qt4 in all my workstations for only this, is a hell... it takes so much time...). Cause otherwise is not possible to use it in Qt4 and either in PyQt4 (which is the language i am using to develop an app that needs phonon support). So i think maintainer of this should enable phonon, or if someone could give a hand of how to do it. I've asked in the IRC channel but i have no responses (and i did it many times) So i've considered this a "bug" since libphonon from Qt4 is not the same as kde. The error i have when i try to package is: http://pastebin.com/m4c954c9d ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253854 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 253854] Re: Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging
Good news then... Since in my case, I prefer to use the Phonon from Qt than KDE, since my application/s will be multi-platforms... So, is better to play with Qt phonon than KDE one... Yeah, seems there is no problem of how WE use Phonon from KDE, but we depend of KDE... As I explained before here, whatever backend i choose for KDE is being used for my Qt application... so that is not right. Since using Gstreamer of Xine could bring problems to KDE apps or Qt as well. A common scenario: I need to use Gstreamer in Qt, but in KDE I need to use Xine (Example in Amarok 2.0, remotes url like radios does not work with gstreamer, but in 2.0.1 is fixed... so maybe other apps could have problems as well) -- Needed libphonon enabled in Qt4 compilation/packaging https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253854 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

This still happen, same error/behavior when you install a new Eric version from their site, stable or latest snapshot same thing happens: ASSERT: "left.level > right.level" in file itemviews/qtreeview.cpp, line 2121 And of course, is when preferences Dialog appears or init. [Bug 443318] [NEW] Konsole LAG/Freezes when Typing - Kubuntu Karmic
Public bug reported: Hi, Since I've being using Kubuntu Karmic (Alpha4, Alpha5 and first Beta and installed from scratch) I have a very annoying problem when typing under Konsole or similar (Yakuake, etc). It has small freezes every X seconds and only happen on my Acer Aspire 5520 (I didn't noticed in other of my computers). No matter if desktop effects are enabled or not, if i use proprietary nVidia driver or no... the problem exist. This behaviour never happen before in others versions of Kubuntu. I am attaching my hardware list (If you need more details, let me know) Actually using latest Kubuntu Karmic Beta AMD64. [Bug 443318] Re: Konsole LAG/Freezes when Typing - Kubuntu Karmic
I just recently tested a weird thing: I think is not related to konsole at all. Now, i've rebooted in Recovery Mode and selected the root console. Even with NO X server running and NO KDE desktop running, the lag when typing is there. [Bug 424789] Re: PHP random segfaults on session_start();
Hi, I also have this bug and noticed using ispCP (http://www.isp-control.net) with fcgid module of apache. I've edited this file: /etc/php5/conf.d/suhosin.ini instead of the one mentioned above and now works. -- PHP random segfaults on session_start(); https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424789 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 424789] Re: PHP random segfaults on session_start();
Mmm could be. I think the other related to apache is when you use its module cause on my installation (that I use fcgid and not libapache2-mod-php5) only was in /etc/php5/conf.d/suhosin.ini. For now is working good :) 2009/9/11 Chris > Niels, > > Did you try editing; > > /etc/php5/apache2/conf.d/suhosin.ini > > as I suggested and > > /etc/php5/conf.d/suhosin.ini > > as Gustavo suggested? > > You might need to modify both, since I've noticed that i've also got > encryption as off in both files.
