This still happen, same error/behavior when you install a new Eric version from their site, stable or latest snapshot same thing happens:
ASSERT: "left.level > right.level" in file itemviews/qtreeview.cpp, line 2121 And of course, is when preferences Dialog appears or init. I think this is not a Eric problem, but Qt indeed and should not be labeled as fixed.
