[Bug 264167] Re: Text Import from clipboard only imports the first line of data

2009-05-03 Thread Goyo
The original report is inaccurate, one line is imported if you try to
import up to eleven lines of text, but if you try to import more lines
then all but the last ten are imported. LarryGlover hit the spot and his
suggestion fixed this for me.

[Bug 293341] [NEW] "No camera found" but detected by gstreamer

2008-11-03 Thread Goyo
Public bug reported:

I have this webcam:

ID 0c45:624f Microdia PC Camera (SN9C201)

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and the microdia driver from
. It works with gstreamer-
properties and ekiga but cheese says "No camera found". No console
output even using --verbose option.

This could be a duplicate of #196811 but it seems to be very device
specific and my camera worked with cheese on Hardy (same driver).

Steve, I didn't notice before but when I run gnome-screensaver-

Same problem here. Xubuntu Feisty i386 installed on a Qemu virtual
machine using the alternate CD. Launching XFCE Terminal causes X to
restart. It works fine if XFCE is not running (for example running
FVWM). The 16 bits video workaround works fine too.

Attached .xsession-errors, and messages, syslog and Xorg.0.log in
/var/log. XFCE Terminal was invoked at 11:39:30.

I suggest change the status to confirmed and importance to as last
medium as newbbies hardly can figure out how to launch a terminal
emulator.

[Bug 487123] Re: ubuntu one does not connect

2010-01-06 Thread Goyo
I'm not behind a proxy.

I could fix this by following an advice I read somewhere. I purged
ubuntune-client and ubuntuone-client-gnome and deleted all ubuntuone
files and folders I found in my home directory (this included hidden
files and folders and ~/Ubuntu One), reboot and installed ubuntuone-
client-gnome again --I tried before just deleting files and folders but
it didn't work.

After that, the first time I opened ubuntuone my browser showed
something like "An error has occurred in Lainchpad, we'll try to fix it"
(sorry I didn't make a copy of the message).

Then I closed ubuntuone and opened it for a second time and the browser
showed my name and an invitation to sign in. But after pressing the sign
in button the error message appeared again.

The third time, after pressing the sign in button the "Add this computer
to Ubuntu One" page appeared and this time I could do it whithout
trouble.

I didn't tested the service yet but at least I could add my computer and
I can connect and disconnect so this is fixed for me and I hope this can
help others, buy I can't figure out what went wrong.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

After opening Ubuntu One client my browser (usually Epiphany but I also
tested abrowser) shows a web page asking me to authenticate. It seems to
know who I am so I press Sign In and then I'm asked to add my computer
to my Ubuntu One account. I press Add This Computer ant then I get this
error:

After more testing I can give more details. If I uninstall firefox and
then install abrowser then all goes well. If I have firefox installed
and try to install abrowser, then synaptic complains as explained in the
original report.

Explicitly installing abrowser-3.5-branding requires uninstalling of
firefox, firefox-3.5-branding and ubufox. Maybe synaptic don't want to
do this when abrowser-3.5-branding is required as a dependency. Is this
expected behavior?

display big buttons to download the most suitable installers for the

[Bug 1687019] Re: Cannot add a Google account using Online Accounts in Ubuntu Gnome

2017-05-05 Thread Goyo
Should we file separate bugs for other applications affected like
epiphany? Pretty sure the underlying cause lies in some common component
but workarounds might be different. Disabling javascript in epiphany
should bring back the old login window but the UI for that was removed
years ago (because it was a "Please break my web" preference in
disguise, how ironic) and even the enable-javascript key in gsettins
seems to be gone.

[Bug 780110] Re: Handle SystemError in apt.cache.Cache.required_download properly

2013-10-08 Thread Goyo
This is due to corrupted index files (likely an incomplete download) and
can be solved by removing the content of /var/lib/apt/lists

sudo rm -r /var/lib/apt/lists/*

(or just the corrupted file if you can identify it)

Anyway it would be nice if this could be handled in a better way. It is
unavoidable that it happens every now and then and most users do not
have a clue about what to do.
