[Bug 184440] Re: [nvidia] Blue hue in all videos
Is there a fix for this yet? Maybe the fix is to uninstall gstreamer or gxine. To sum up the problem: NVidia thinks that hue values range between 0 and 360, with 0 being the default. All other programs think that hue is a value between -180 and 180, again with 0 as the default. Now, if hue is set to the center of a GUI slider bar (as mplayer shows), the center (or average) of [0 to 360] is 180. The center of [-180 to 180] is 0. Seems like someone needs to standardize hue values and shift their range 180 degrees! -- [nvidia] Blue hue in all videos https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 392283] Re: it's just possible to print the current month
Sorry!... reading what i wrote I understand perfectly... I hope the following explanation will be enough in evolution mail: - click on calendar (for me, in italian "Calendario") - in the sidebar on the left select month clicking on the left arrow to join july (for me "luglio") and then click on the first of july and drag to 31. after this I have selected the days between 29 of june to 2 of september - click on file - print preview (for me "file - anteprima di stampa") I expected to see a preview reporting as title "july" (id est "luglio"), and days between 29 of june to 2 of september, but i have "june" (giugno) as title, and days between 1 of june to 12 of july. (schermata1.png) then: - click on file - setup page (file - impostazioni pagina) - click on landscape (orizzontale) - in the sidebar on the left select month clicking on the left arrow to join july (for me "luglio") and then click on the first of july and drag to 31. - click on file - print preview (for me "file - anteprima di stampa") Now I see a rotated page (readable from left) titled July ("Luglio") ** Attachment added: "Schermata1.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28442016/Schermata1.png -- it's just possible to print the current month https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 268417] [NEW] update-manager crashed while updating through Synaptic
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager I always use Synaptic to "mark all upgrades" right after a fresh install. However, update-manager crashed while trying to update. [Bug 357724] Re: radio_maestro module generates kernel oops and crash
Sorry for chiming in late. just tested on my Armada E500 with the test kernel (-generic) from the link in post #25 and had no crashes with the modules deleted from /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf. Sound works, so the fix also works on my E500. I also tested the 2.6.28-14.47 kernel that has recently been released for USN-807-1 but that does not yet contain this SRU. I thought I would just throw that out here for anybody that maybe confused by both the kernels from USN-807-1 and Colin's test kernels being 2.6.28-14.47. Thanks to everybody who made this fix. Hope to see it in the official kernel soon. -- radio_maestro module generates kernel oops and crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357724 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 30570] Re: CPU usage very high with no running tasks using it
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 30557 *** I can confirm this is a problem on my HP Compaq nc6230. Intel Pentiume M processor 1.86Ghz. Running the official kernel 2.6.15-25-686 gives me a couple dozen percentage points higher CPU usge when idle while the 2.6.15-25-386 kernel leaves me at near 0 percent CPU usage when idling. It's always the X process that shows to be using the CPU time. Here is the process as listed in gnome-system-monitor: /usr/bin/X :0 -br -audit 0 -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth -nolisten tcp vt7 gnome-system-monitor shows overall CPU usage at ~50% while top shows a fluxtuation of ~15-35% (it's harder to see what the real usage is w/o a graph). The 386 kernel usage is what should be expected, which is nearly at the bottom for CPU usage. All of this is while "idle", of course. -- CPU usage very high with no running tasks using it https://launchpad.net/bugs/30570 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm still having these problems after upgrading to Gutsy. I have a Pentium D 830 with an ATI radeon X600 (RV380). I was using the open source radeon DRI drivers with aiglx to run compiz-fusion. [Bug 125581] System hibernates after being resumed from suspend
Public bug reported: I have Feisty power management set to suspend my computer after 60 minutes of inactivity. When I try to wake-up my computer, it presents me with a locked screen and a password prompt. If I press my power button again, the system boots to grub, and then resumes my machine (all windows still open from the original suspend operation). [Bug 130559] Re: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) - no sound
The linux-backports-modules got me sound on my fresh install of Gutsy on a Dell Latitude D630, but sound mixing is all fouled up. When I got to mess with volume levels (whether the buttons on the laptop or the volume control panel), the volume will start out at the level I set it for, then it will slowly get louder and louder until it is maxed out. It's almost like one of these hardware volume buttons is stuck, but it's not. It's very strange because there is a delay before it decides it's time to start cranking the volume up (and it's very slow and gradual). I have tried this with a couple different audio programs and the results are the same. You don't see the audio slider bars or controls going up, you just hear the volume getting louder and louder until it maxes out. [Bug 117314] Re: latest kernel(2.6.20-16.28) update gives boot problems
After I upgraded, the grub menu.list file was incorrect. The entry for 2.6.20-15 looked like this BEFORE: title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-15-generic root(hd0,1) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20-15-generic root=UUID=6430bdad-99af-4e51-8552-4f50510924c1 ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.20-15-generic quiet savedefault AFTER the upgrade, my 2.6.20-16 AND 2.6.20-15 entries were altered so that neither was bootable. The offending line seems to be the "root" line as it was changed to "(hd1,1)" instead of the previous "hd(0,1)". I manually adjusted this and was able to boot BOTH 2.6.20-15 and 2.6.20-16. I could reproduce this on my 3 Xubuntu boxes I just upgraded. I do not use auto-login, so that is not a factor. All three had the latest updates as of May 2nd, when I tested this. One is a AMD64, the other two are i386 machines. I have put /usr/sbin/hald in rc.local on all three to work around this issue. I have tested with 1 USB stick, one iPod in disk-mode (=USB mass storage) and a phone connected via a USB cable as USB mass storage (+ttyACM0). I tested both Lionel's suggestion in #57, and Dennis suggestion in #7 of 572042. [Bug 502578] Re: Apport doesn't work with default browser Opera
Simply passing the url as a parameter should work. When I open a terminal and enter $opera www.google.com a new tab is opened in Opera and it navigates to the given url (google.com in this case). It is also possible to surround the url with double quotes ("). $opera "www.google.com" Clicking on an url in Evolution or any other place/program correctly opens a new tab in the running session. Please note that Opera distinguishes between a new tab and a new window. The latter creates a new main window of Opera, while the former simply adds a new tab to a running main window. You can force a new tab to be opened by using the -newtab argument, as in $opera -newtab www.google.com but this shouldn't be needed as it is the default behavior. -- Apport doesn't work with default browser Opera https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502578 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 296610] Re: ALPS DualPoint Touchpad flaky performance
Sebastian, Your patch gets us most of the way there. There's still a minor problem, apparently with the mouse buttons. They can occasionally get stuck in a "pressed" state. To reproduce, in Ubuntu (Gnome): 1) Press and hold the touchpad's left mouse button while the pointer is on the desktop (or anywhere in Nautilus). 2) Drag with the trackpoint (the stick). 3) Stop dragging with the trackpoint. 4) Release the touchpad's left mouse button. 5) Notice that the computer still thinks that the left mouse button is down. This behavior continues until you initiate an event (movement or buttons) with the trackpoint. The inverse works, too (using the trackpoint's buttons and the touchpad for dragging.) I believe this happens because the button state for each device is independent. Back when I was using someone else's patch, I fixed this by setting the button state for both devices any time the state for one of them changed. I don't think that's an unreasonable design, as I can't imagine a time when you'd really want to track them separately. Could you add this to your patch? Incidentally, the Windows driver seems to handle the issue by disabling the touchpad and touchpad buttons any time it is processing events from the trackpoint. I'm not sure that's desirable, but it is likely the way that the manufacturer intended for the device to be used. -- ALPS DualPoint Touchpad flaky performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296610 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 296610] Re: ALPS DualPoint Touchpad flaky performance
Sebastian, I've uploaded a Youtube video demonstrating the bug. I'm certain that I'm only using your patch, as I performed a clean installation before doing my testing. I'm using an m4400, which seems to have the same Dualpoint. You're right that the patch is a vast improvement, but the buttons will still probably be a showstopper for me. I'd be happy to provide any command input (lsusb, etc.) you want to see, or gather any other information you need. Just let me know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqSZ-mftheM&fmt=18 There are no apparent errors in the dmesg output. Interestingly enough, regardless of whether or not I'm currently experiencing the bug, I can reliably cause the driver to lose sync by pressing all three of the touchpad buttons at once. Pressing all three of the stick's buttons do not cause the driver to lose sync. I don't know if this bug is related--it's certainly probably an uncommon problem. [Bug 296610] Re: ALPS DualPoint Touchpad flaky performance
Robert: If I remember correctly, these devices are represented by two input devs in the code, each with its own set of buttons. There was something weird about how the buttons were represented in the 9-byte packet, and what happened with the old patch was that the button state for dev would differ from the button state for dev2. As long as either device thinks that the button is down, the button is considered down. So while the 9-byte packet would change one of the devices button states to up, it wouldn't change the state for the second. And voila, you have the behavior demonstrated in the video. You never have the problem if you're dealing with 5-byte packets (only using one device or the other.) Charles: Yeah, I often find it very convenient to use the pointy stick to move and the touchpad button to drag, though I've mostly trained myself to not do that due to the various problems with this particular hardware. More commonly, I'll be pressing a button on the stick with my palm resting slightly on the touchpad and I'll trigger the bugs. That's the main reason it annoys me. -- ALPS DualPoint Touchpad flaky performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296610 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
