2009-06-14 Thread Eric Seigne
Okay,
here is a patch. Please replace 03_debian_piddir.diff with this one, then build
package and try it ... it works.

With this patch, pidfile is /var/run/xfs.pid, maybe ubuntu/debian want
it in /var/run/xfs ?

[Bug 381852] [NEW] xfs package: /var/run/xfs/xfs.pid or /var/run/xfs.pid ?

2009-05-30 Thread Eric Seigne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfs

After installing xfs on jaunty (apt-get install xfs), /etc/init.d/xfs
(re)start said

xfs[17684]: cannot fdopen process ID file /var/run/xfs/xfs.pid for writing: No
such file or directory
xfs[17684]: error opening process ID file /var/run/xfs/xfs.pid

But /etc/init.d/xfs is configured to use /var/run/xfs.pid
(PIDFILE=/var/run/xfs.pid) ... and it started xfs daemon with this command line:
start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --pidfile /var/run/xfs.pid --exec
/usr/bin/xfs -- -daemon

[Bug 375284] Re: Add "-o follow_symlinks" to localapps sshfs?

2009-08-06 Thread Eric Seigne
Hello,
i'have the same problem here: all of ours shared directory are not accessible
with localapps.

But if i add follow_symlinks to sshfs there is an other problem:

eric.sei...@ltsp160:~$ E: core-util.c: Failed to symlink
/home/utilisateurs/eric.seigne/.pulse/3cac2f56d278479a83dbde244a7abf8d:runtime

/home/utilisateurs/eric.seigne/.pulse/3cac2f56d278479a83dbde244a7abf8d:runtime
to /tmp/pulse-E4oKaHjAfWF6: Operation not permitted

pulse (and lot of others i'm sure) can't make symlinks to local devices
or pipes ...

For linux boxes i uses a cifs mount, samba make server-symlinks-resolv
and solutions, and local links works good, it could be a solution, but
you have to install and configure samba ...

[Bug 575912] [NEW] e1000e-next 10MBit/s only (Intel 82578DM) on jaunty 2.6.28-18

Public bug reported:

Thanks a lot for adding e1000e-next driver in jaunty-update kernel but

[Bug 575912] Re: e1000e-next 10MBit/s only (Intel 82578DM) on jaunty 2.6.28-18

2010-05-06 Thread Eric Seigne
Jeremy,
this problem is only present on jaunty kernel, with lucid everything works up
to 1000Mbit. But i have a lot of computers running jaunty here and i can't make
a migration to lucid now.

So i'm going to use my custom-kernel but i don't like this idea due to
security updates.

Here is a patch (from e1000 version 1.0.15 sources) you can apply to
last jaunty security kernel source.

[Bug 425344] Re: apt-move doesn't put pidgin-themes or pidgin-plugin-pack in Packages.gz ...

2009-09-06 Thread Eric Seigne
Here is some new informations, if i manually update
/var/lib/apt/lists/fr.archive.ubuntu
.com_ubuntu_dists_jaunty_universe_binary-i386_Packages

from:

Package: pidgin-themes
Priority: optional
Section: universe/net
Installed-Size: 4792
.../...

to

Package: pidgin-themes
Priority: optional
Section: net
Installed-Size: 4792
.../...

apt-move takes pidgin-themes as a "normal" package. So apt-move seems to
have some problems with universe packages ?

2009-09-06 Thread Eric Seigne
Ok, i'm sorry, a lot of people have troubles with apt-move on ubuntu ...

Here is a quick and dirty solution, please copy getdist.awk file
attached to this bug in /usr/share/apt-move, then restart apt-move
localupdate ... every universe or multiverse packages will be integrated
in "main" local branch.

Is there some awk hackers to make a new apt-move package ?

Hello all,
here is a dirty workaround (in my case):

edit
/usr/share/perl5/Ocsinventory/Agent/Backend/OS/Generic/Packaging/Deb.pm

replace
 'COMMENTS'  => $4,

with
 'COMMENTS'  => '',

and it could work ... but there is no "comments" in software inventory
... in my case that's less important than "no inventory at all"
