[Bug 1034274] [NEW] Canon Pixma MP150 doesn't print text
Public bug reported: Canon Pixma MP150 worked with previous Ubuntu versions. Now it can print image files but a single page document from Libre Office was incomplete even though in preview it was ok. After that the printer freezes. Canceling the job won't help. It wont do a thing and MP150 is still showing marks as if it is working but that's all. [Bug 986550] Re: Ubiquity crashes with "Illegal instruction" right after starting the slideshow
I have a similar problem on my PC (AMD Duron 1800, 1,5 GB RAM, BIOS from 2003). Maybe it's the same cause, maybe not, I don't know. Can you help me find out? (BTW: this CPU _does_ support PAE, as I checked!) The effect started after the last "Oneiric" / 11.10 kernel upgrade, just a few weeks before "Precise" / 12.04 came out, approx. around March 2012. Since I made this kernel upgrade certain things did stop working: 1) All auto-replace functionality in LibreOffice stopped at once, 2) The presentation of any (!) streaming video content is no longer possible, both in Firefox and Chromium. Instead the video only an empty rectangle appears, no Flash message. Despite this it is still possible to download youtube movies with the respective Add-On, but not to watch on screen. (I tried both Flash and Gnash, no change). 3) Wine doesn't start any more. 4) Google Earth doesn't start any more 5) Stellarium doesn't work Or, maybe, it is my graphics card that will not work with the new kernel: It's a Sapphire Radeon 9000 Pro from ATI. Can all these things have a common cause? Who can give me a hint how to find out? Please paste me the output of "env" on your shell and of "dpkg -l nautilus-dropbox". (for amd64, for i386 it should be "lnx.x86" at the end of the URL) But I'm interested to learn why the download would not work for you. Do you get a window asking your for admin privileges when running the above command? It might be related to the https redirection since the wrapper doesn't copy over the https_proxy variable. I prepared an updated package for this. The package is attached (built for Ubuntu LTS amd64 and i386), please try it out and report back. Cheers, PS: In any case, the dropbox wrapper in nautilus-dropbox wants to install the files in /var/lib/dropbox/ so the suggested wget should really be: cd /var/lib/dropbox && wget -O - "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86_64"; | sudo tar xzf - But please don't do this for now. No. But as i tried now to answer you during the terminal window open, i noticed that the cursor is blinking in ffox, ready to write, but when i type, it's writing into the terminal window instead. It would be normal because it was the terminal window that was active according to the borders appearance. [Bug 1034002] Re: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected precise running-unity ** Description changed: I did the kernel smoke test for the quantal kernel on precise. I can suspend and resume however when I resume I the screen stays black. It looks like the backlight isn't coming on, but it's noteable that I don't see anything on my external screen either.I can see consoles on my external monitor (over HDMI) and if I disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect it then I am also able to see my Unity session on that screen. This issue is present with both the quantal kernel and the stock 12.04 one. [Bug 165865] Re: markers must take object's stroke color (SVG 1.2 feature)
New patch with the following changes User Preference : Behavior->Markers->Change color of custom markers (default off) When off custom markers are used as-is, color not changed, and not forked. Preview for gradient markers shown in list > Result is that the marker color is not changed (when changing line color) Yes this is by design and is consistent with the Color Marker extension. This seemed like the best way to allow the user to set the marker color and line color separately. There are some other complications of having auto updates - if you have several lines all using the same color marker, then you update one line color - do you then update all the marker colors or not ? Could add an option for this later. > Result is that it forks the existing first custom marker with the new color > rather than actually using that marker as-is Should be fixed by new User Preference > Issue 1: There is an actual problem though if you toggle between markers in > the custom section it continues (forking) Forking only happens now with the user Preference above "on" >Issue 2: it eventually gives them different names Should be fixed > gradients on strokes If you check the def of the marker, it actually has the same gradient link as the line. Linear gradients seems to mostly render the first stop color, radial gradients dont work well. Not sure how to deal with this, since there is no way to independently tweak the gradient of the marker (stops, location etc) i dont think there is a perfect solutions to this. Any ideas ? > Gradient previews are not reflecting what's on-canvas Should be fixed ** Patch added: "165865.v5.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/165865/+attachment/3252260/+files/165865.v5.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/165865 Title: markers must take object's stroke color (SVG 1.2 feature) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/165865/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1034281] [NEW] CVE-2012-3412
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: A peer (or local user) may cause TCP to use a nominal MSS of as little as 88 (actual MSS of 76 with timestamps). Given that we have a sufficiently prodigious local sender and the peer ACKs quickly enough, it is nevertheless possible to grow the window for such a connection to the point that we will try to send just under 64K at once. This results in a single skb that expands to 861 segments. In some drivers with TSO support, such an skb will require hundreds of DMA descriptors; a substantial fraction of a TX ring or even more than a full ring. The TX queue selected for the skb may stall and trigger the TX watchdog repeatedly (since the problem skb will be retried after the TX reset). [Bug 585938] Re: 10ec:8171 r8192se_pci + powertop (iwpriv -a) = kernel panic
@apw, I can reproduce this on an Intel Classmate PC running Lucid. What makes it incomplete for Lucid? Also I'm afraid the patch, although promising, does not resolve the issue for me. I can still panic the kernel every time with "iwpriv -a" or "iwpriv wlan0 adhoc_peer_list". iwpriv shows that the return buffer size has been reduced, so the patch is applied in this kernel.
