[Bug 582809] Re: Synaptics Clickpad touchpad buttons are not working
'LEDStatus = 0' is the default parameter. It's the same as led_status is false. I think it's normal. Have you got any problem ? [Bug 762964] Re: Bluetooth doesn't work in Ubuntu 11.04
hello, here is my workaround that consistently works not only at boot or reboot but also after suspend/hibernate... --> just install using synaptic the bluez package from blueman ppa (ppa:blueman/ppa); it only exists for maverick but it installs ok in natty. before I tried 1) kernel upgrade from natty proposed 2) /etc/init.d/ bluetooth restart in /etc/rc.local 1) did not work and 2) does not work after suspend/resume hope this will help someone trapped in natty and lazy as myself to downgrade to the good old maverick... PS: after having to deal with this and the infamous 1-pixel tray icons bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/unity/+bug/767095) I wonder how it is possible that natty ever came out of the beta (not to say alpha) status -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762964 Title: Bluetooth doesn't work in Ubuntu 11.04 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity Trying to install Kubuntu 11.04 on an MSI Wind U100 rebrand netbook. After booting the live media I was automatically presented with the netbook workspace formfactor, but instead of changing it to the normal desktop workspace I thought I'd give it a try. [Bug 250723] Re: USB devices does not perceive it.
I think it is relatively unlikely that Ubuntu packagers and developers will add this new feature to hardinfo -- enhancement requests to application software are usually something to ask the "upstream" software developers about, instead. @André Savik : If you would like to provide the "trivial" patch to hardinfo to do this, that would probably be more productive that asking "What gives? Any news?" -- write that patch, and it will *be* the news :) Based on personal experience, hardinfo developers do welcome user- contributed patches. You could also generate an enhancement request on the bugtracker of the hardinfo application itself, if a similar request does not already exist there, since this request does not seem to be Ubuntu-specific. I also want to put your attention to broken dependencies in the gnome- games-package. Everytime, I want to do the upgrade after having installed this ppa-repository, I get this in synaptic, Mint-Update and Terminal as well: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-games-common_1% 3a3.0.2-0ubuntu1~natty2_amd64.deb: Versuch, /usr/share/gnome-games-common/cards/bonded.svg zu überschreiben, welches auch in Paket gnome-games-extra-data 2.30.0-1ubuntu1 ist. So in one of these packages, this file claimed for has to go, so that it gets installable. And to solve the issue for not being able to log in after having installed this ppa-repository, you not only need to edit the line mentioned above. The very last line in this file shows a wrong Gnome- Version with 2.0. this has to be changed to 3.0. Then the login works again. Fabio, No I am not but that is because I gave up on trying to resolve it a couple of months back. 1 - I use version 11 Ubuntu at this time. 2 - my resolution to the issue at the time was to trash the Netgear wireless card and replace it with a Linksys card. [Bug 792850] Re: Lubuntu Oneiric live desktop lacks restart and shutdown buttons
"The screenshot supplied demonstrating the reported issue does not show the default Lubuntu theme, it seems to show an LXDE theme instead." Correct, and it only happens on the live desktop, not after I've installed. I began discussing this on the mailing list, to which I'd not subscribed in time for Julien's release announcement, but there were three issues regarding casper and/or ubiquity that I didn't experience with Ubuntu: 1) The Lubuntu Alpha1 Live CD boots to a tty, so you have to type startx to get the DE. 2) The default DE lacks restart or shutdown buttons. 3) Upon completing the installation I was asked whether to restart or keep using the Live DE as usual. I chose to restart and the CD ejected as expected but the screen was just blank. So I removed the CD, closed the tray and hit enter, but nothing happened. I tried some common key combos but finally had to use the reset button on my box to complete the restart. Per Julien's instructions on the mailing list I repeated this procedure, and upon booting to a tty I tried waiting (I took a shower), and I tried to restart lxdm via "sudo service lxdm start", but I'm used to Gnome so I could easily be doing something wrong. Regardless I could only get X to start by typing "startx" in the tty. Then I end up in what appears to be a pure LXDE. "Here, a virtualbox 4.0.8 VM running Lubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Alpha 1 shows the expected Lubuntu theming and the shutdown menu has all the expected buttons." I'm running on actual hardware, not in a VM. The hardware involved is: JetWay JATOM-GM1-230-LF Motherboard Intel Atom 230 CPU @ 1.60GHz System Memory 2GB DIMM Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Intel N10/ICH 7 Family High Def Audio Controller "Did you perhaps change themes, and fail to note this in your bug report? " No. I installed nothing. Well, since Julien requested a screenshot I installed the screenshot tool, but that's all. Maybe starting from "startx" rather than starting from lxdm starts the wrong session? Given what Julien said in the release announcement I doubt this is worth spending much time on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792850 Title: Lubuntu Oneiric live desktop lacks restart and shutdown buttons -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 793266] [NEW] No accelerometer HDD protection on a Toshiba Satellite A665
Public bug reported: I have this Toshiba Satellite A665, which comes with a 3D accelerometer. [Bug 793265] [NEW] If the service name too long, printer does not get advertized via DNS-SD
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups I have several print queues on a print server and they have rather verbose descriptions in their Description/Info fields. The patch to make CUPS' DNS-SD broadcasting of print queues also working with Avahi generates DNS-SD service names as " @ ". Avahi only allows strings with a maximum of 63 characters as service names and the service names generated by the patch are often too long. The printers with too long service names do not get DNS-SD- advertized as Avahi does not accept them. I have modified the Avahi patch so that in case of too long description strings, they get cut to assure that the service name is never longer than 63 characters. [Bug 788540] Re: [Thinkpad T410s] Mute indicator gets out of sync
I am also experiencing this behavior on my Thinkpad T410 running Kubuntu 11.04. The hardware and software indicators can get reversed either by toggling the mute on the panel icon or if the hardware mute is enabled on boot or resume from suspend. Pressing the mute button switches both indicators, keeping them reversed. Changing the volume via the hardware buttons will reset the hardware mute indicator and get them back in sync. I rebooted into the stock Windows 7 install to check its behavior. It functions in a much more logical way: the software and hardware mute indicators are kept in sync at all times. While it is true that it is desirable at times to disable the speakers while leaving the headphones operable, IMHO the current behavior is not the correct way to expose this functionality to the user. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/788540 Title: [Thinkpad T410s] Mute indicator gets out of sync -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 793283] [NEW] Xorg crash
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Ubuntu 11.04 X appears to be randomly crashing and dumping me back to the login screen. Running programs are killed. Leaves video artifacts (dark pixels) on the screen post-crash which go away with a reboot. Firefox 4.0.1, after X crashes and I log back in (without rebooting), cursor is displaced in Firefox and I have to position it one line above what I intend to click on. [Bug 793284] [NEW] Window corner fake transparency problem
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Window corners are round, so there is a little bit of transparency in the corner. To establish this transparency effect, metacity shows the wallpaper underneath the 'transparent' part of the corner in the transparent part of the corner. But the gnome panel (when on top) drops a shadow on top of the wallpaper and because there is no real transparency this shadow isn't shown in the window corner. As a result you can clearly see the contrast between the window corner and the wallpaper.
