[Bug 697120] [NEW] Unity causes Guake scrollbar to be off screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Natty Alpha 1 with all updates applied. Unity 3.2.8-0ubuntu1 Using Guake, a terminal emulator, which 'slides' down from the top of the screen when invoked with an F key and 'slides' back up out of the screen when no longer required. When using Unity, with Guake visible, Guake's right edge is off the right hand side of the screen which means some of the right hand screen area and, more importantly, the right hand scrollbar is not accessible. It appears Guake may be using the desktop size as its width but not taking into account that Unity is taking up some pixels on the left hand side for its sidebar, which means Guake's right edge is outside the visible screen area. Switching workspaces isn't a viable workaround as Guake repeats its behaviour on all workspaces. Expected behaviour: Guake's right hand screen edge should be visible and accessible on the right hand side of the screen. To reproduce: Start Guake while using Unity. Use relevant F key to invoke Guake (F12 is default). Produce enough terminal output to fill more than one page (i.e. to ensure scrollbar will be visible). Note scrollbar is not accessible on right hand side of screen. Also, run a command in the terminal that produces right justified output (such as re-starting a service like apache2, which generally outputs a right-justified [OK]). Note output is not visible or partly off the screen. Note, I understand the bug may be with Guake but thought Unity would be the best spot to initiate it, as this bug is not present when a Classic Desktop session is used. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 34813 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34813 Actually this is not just an issue with gedit and nautilus. [Bug 680239] Re: ar8152 v2.0 fast ethernet nic stops working
I report the same problem, with kernel ubuntu 2.6.35-24, with 2.6.35-23 everything work correct. The hw is the same above (asus 1215n, with AR8152 NIC ethernet port. The behaviour for me is the following: - Start to work (dhcp transation ok) - After 2/3 minutes everything stop working. - If i ping someone on my network (ie the proxy) i get afrom the ping From 192.168.1.42 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable - If i check the daemon.log i can see the dhcp trying to acquire ip but has a timeout failed. After a while goes (normally behaviour) in auto ip mode At the end: i can see the eth0 but it seems to be disconnected. He can see the link goes up but doesn't communication Now if i try to plug my modem the behaviour doesn't change. I can see the link (i use a vpn connection) but nothing go through. [Bug 676624] Re: Panel applets randomly fail to start.
I've searched, and this seems to be the best bug to add a "me too" to. At most logins (classic desktop), I typically get the trash applet, window switcher, clock, and indicator applet fail to load, with an error message along the lines of "Clock applet quit unexpectedly". With each applet that fails to load, the line: ** (gnome-panel:1748): WARNING **: Operation was cancelled appears twice in ~/.xsession-errors This has been going on for about 6 weeks now, and I guess it's because the developers are focusing on Unity that this problem has got so little attention. yes, you seem to be on something here, if the snapdragon (to my knowledge being the only real HW this issue was seen on yet) behaves the same as qemu there might be a similarity. upstream clearly pointed to the boehm gc issues with the x86 /proc filesystem for our bug, would be intresting to know why the snapdragon exposes similar issues here. over all it would be good though if you opened a new bug to not taint the qemu bugtracking so much. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/53 Title: mono assembly installation under qemu-arm-static hangs -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 697165] [NEW] wrong handling of udev rule hiding partitions-mounting usb-drives

[Bug 583271] Re: The value of "Energy when full" is much higher than the value of "Energy (design)" so the percentage calculation is wrong
If I kill the process of upowerd, then upowerd restarts with accurate information in "Energy when full" and the battery of the indicator applet jumps back to where it should be. So this should really be a bug in upower. [Bug 697168] [NEW] Unity's translatable messages in Launchpad not up to date
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity In Unity Natty I've noticed that some of the strings in Natty are different or new from those in Maverick (e.g. "Keep in Launcher" -> "Keep In Launcher"; "Open New Window"). However, they are not still present in Launchpad for translation. In general, a package build should trigger a translation template generation and make all the new strings appear, so either this is not working in the unity package or the new strings are not marked for translation. ** Affects: ubuntu-translations Importance: Critical Status: Triaged ** Affects: unity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: natty ** Also affects: unity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ubuntu-translations Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Importance: Undecided => Critical -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697168 Title: Unity's translatable messages in Launchpad not up to date -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
