[Bug 683004] [NEW] cxref-emacs: Opening .c files results in autoload-related error message
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cxref Please see the bug report http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=586219 This bug is reported as being fixed in version 1.6c-2 in debian testing (it is) in mid-june 2010. [Bug 682986] Re: borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed
Well, yeah when you switch between different window managers, the new window manager has to recreate all the window decorations. That's why the borders and buttons disappear. The panel is part of the window manager too, so when switching WM's that'll disappear too. So, so far it isn't sounding like an X issue actually. Maybe it would help if you write down the exact steps you do to reproduce the issue, and indicate expected / actual results. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 678419] Re: volname does not work for dvd's / udf images
I think a patch that uses libudf would be better, since libudf is already in main and libdvdread is not - you wouldn't need to go through the MIR process. libudf, though in main, also isn't in the default desktop install currently, but that's not really a big issue, as it's miniscule. [Bug 661294] Re: System lock-up when receiving large files (big data amount) from NFS server
David is right here. One of the bugs mentioned by Thag seems even gone since a while (the last comments I see are from 2008). The other bugs seem to relate to a server side NFS lockup and seemed to produce stack traces on the server. Reading there it seems that this issue should be fixed now and that fix was part of 2.6.32-20.29 for Lucid and the initial release of Maverick. So we should concentrate on receiving files in this bug report. If I understand correctly the server side is unaffected and shows no messages. And the client can re-connect after the reset? David, if you could try to see whether doing the file copy on the text console (vt1) shows some messages when locking up. And just to mention, yes surely using the user-space nfs server changes the problem (or maybe avoids it). It is completely different code (and presumably slower). But it may as well be only the client side and it would be good to find the problem there. And to understand it better we need to find out how to trigger it reliably (and hopefully get some data out of it). -- System lock-up when receiving large files (big data amount) from NFS server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661294 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 615953] Re: busybox sed core dump
I've reproduced the issue with the version of eglibc in maverick- updates, 2.12.1-0ubuntu9, on i386-only, and can confirm that the version in maverick-proposed, 2.12.1-0ubuntu10, fixes it. I've added a testcase for it in the lp:qa-regression-testing tree (http://bazaar.launchpad.net /~ubuntu-bugcontrol/qa-regression-testing/master/revision/1030) and have verified that the version in proposed does not regress with any of the testcases for eglibc in that tree. I've also been running the proposed version of eglibc on 3 different systems with no noticable ill effects. For lucid, I am unable to reproduce the issue with the version of eglibc in lucid-updates, 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.5, but I can confirm that the version in lucid-proposed, 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.6, also is not affected and that it also passes the rest of the glibc regression tests. Server aborting I ran through half of the demos in the "qtdemo" package and none crashed the server. (I don't have all the KDE infrastructure installed, so I didn't test that.) The server does *not* crash when using the free- software NVIDIA driver. I have not been able to disable the Xinerama extension either by putting 'Option "Xinerama" "0"' in the "ServerLayout" sections, or by using the "-xinerama" command-line argument to /usr/bin/Xorg. I've read that the NVIDIA driver forces it on or something. So our bug is probably not this one, would you agree? [Bug 660972] Re: eject does not unmount cdrom or dvdrom if ejecting by the hardware button
I have the same problem on a Dell Precision M4500. It seems to be caused by the fact that no udev events are triggered if the DVD is ejected with the button when the drive is mounted. Here is the Xorg output: Backtrace: 0: X (xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x80e82fb] 1: X (0x8048000+0x5da8d) [0x80a5a8d] 2: (vdso) (__kernel_rt_sigreturn+0x0) [0x13e40c] 3: X (ProcessWorkQueue+0x30) [0x8073a60] 4: X (WaitForSomething+0x56) [0x809fc06] 5: X (0x8048000+0x25d3e) [0x806dd3e] 6: X (0x8048000+0x1a5ba) [0x80625ba] 7: /lib/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xe7) [0xd3ace7] 8: X (0x8048000+0x1a191) [0x8062191] Segmentation fault at address (nil) Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting I ran through half of the demos in the "qtdemo" package and none crashed the server. (I don't have all the KDE infrastructure installed, so I didn't test that.) So it does not seem to be related to bug 650539. The server does *not* crash when using the free-software NVIDIA driver. I have not been able to disable the Xinerama extension either by putting 'Option "Xinerama" "0"' in the "ServerLayout" sections, or by using the "-xinerama" command-line argument to /usr/bin/Xorg. I've read that the NVIDIA driver forces it on or something. Also, "ubuntu-bug" accused my of installing NVIDIA drivers manually from nvidia.com. I did not. The permanent fix to the grub problem for 10.04.1 installs on the same partition as windows is described here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10180622&postcount=13 It's the same for 10.10 wubi installs to the same partition described in bug 653134. [Bug 683039] [NEW] toggling fullscreen moves window offscreen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz When toggling a window between windowed and fullscreen mode (Like vlc or totem), when it comes out of fullscreen mode, the window is moved past the top left corner of the screen so it is a little bit offscreen. If the window is toggled fullscreen again, when it comes out of fullscreen it moves up a little more. Repeating this makes it move completely off the screen. I'm using the latest git branch on ubuntu 10.10 (built with the soreau scripts) with nvidia drivers. I also have a multi-monitor setup, but was told in irc that this happens on single-monitor setups too. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- toggling fullscreen moves window offscreen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683039 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 681249] Re: gtkpod hangs on attempt to sync contacts
Further investigation reveals that there is a file stored on the iPod (in my case in /media/Michael%20HEN/iPod_Control/iTunes/gtkpod.prefs) when it is first set up to work with gtkpod, and which isn't changed in line with subsequent changes made in Edit=>Repository/iPod Options. [Bug 620654] Re: "Disconnected -- no reason specified" when adding GTalk/Jabber account
Nothing has changed here either configuration-wise or with versions (all updates are scheduled manually) - but I am now connected to gtalk again.
