[Bug 377643] Re: network manager/wicd turns wireless password to hex in jaunty still
I know Ubuntu developers have a lot of work to do, but I would appreciate some feedback here. If some information is missing, just say it and you will receive it quickly! [Bug 376715] Re: Thunderbird - feature request - nest in toolbar
If it lands in Tbird-3 than it should make it into Karmic however that depends on how fast upstream moves and how many bugs they need to fix before release. I dont have a ETA on release for it yet. Re: [Bug 374774] Re: Menu File -> Save Page As or Right Click -> Save Image as don't work
Hi Kurt, sorry my mistake, big one. I was going to fix the bug on the site within this week. I backed up Firefox with FEBE (Firefox Backup Extension) and in that profile I had set a default directory to download files from the web. When I restored my Firefox profile that directory wasn't there and obviously (except for me :-)) ) Firefox could not save files there; actually I wasn't able to read any error message and that's why I guessed it was a bug at that point. Dear Till Kappeter, I encounter the same problem here with a network printer Kyocera FS- 3830N. As soon as there are some graphics/images in the PDF it prints one page in 20 minutes (usually 20 pages per minute). Very very slow. [Bug 301353] Re: HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend
Well, I sure can understand one's frustration. But I'm pretty darn sure this is NOT an HP BIOS issue. But rather something to do with the s2ram commands... I've been far to busy to fiddle with this issue as of yet. But I'm sure it's is like the million other things that need slight adjustments to work properly within ubuntu supporting your current hardware or add-ons. I'm thinking of my recent GPS add-on that needed slight tweaking(gpsd strings) and most recent Alsa drivers for my laptop sound. Nevertheless this can be fixed. So I've already stated previously in this current thread; I OWN an HP DV5-1250us laptop. which is similar or LKQ to most of the other systems that are currently in question (DV5 series). Now I know for a fact these laptops will suspend and RESUME 100% no problems, I've seen it with my own damn eyes. Now as soon as proprietary drivers are installed. All goes to hell in a hand basket. So... needless to say this is simply not an HP BIOS issue. Now this might not solve the problem, but we need to play around a bit before jumping to conclusions. I know this is a bug, doesn't mean it is a hardware issue. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=471855 If more folks that have time on their hands played around, we could have a fix already. Complaining to HP regarding an issue like this, is like trying to paddle up river with tennis rackets. Good Luck man! >s2ram, folks lets play a bit and find the right commands... This bug is not really triaged since other than a patch noone has discussd this as per: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/61634/comments/5 I am against adding this to default install. Here are 2 things i have thought about. We can add this as an "option" in ubufox or someone writes an extension for it and either posts it @ addons.mozilla Or package it for Ubuntu. Adding more "default" things to firefox is not a suitable way to go. the code is already bloated and that is what ubufox was intended to do. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Confirmed ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Assignee: Mozilla Bugs (mozilla-bugs) => (unassigned) -- Ubuntu Forums and Ubuntu Wiki Search https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/61634 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 361991] Re: Sent items are not getting created / Outbox not flushed
I have done a bit more work on this and it appears that the To: field in the email is left blank because a call to exhange_mapi_util_modify_recpients fails returning with MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED(0x80004005) and submitting the message ecInvalidRecips(0x467). I have tried describing the local recipients email in different ways (fully qualified, local name, excluding the domain suffix etc) but with no success. [Bug 379348] [NEW] Installing next to Windows places Linux beyond 137GB and makes system unbootable (grub error 18).
Public bug reported: I tried to install Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) on my laptop, a Dell Precision M20. I was using a new 250GB drive, with Windows XP already installed. The installer detected the Windows install and offered to set up alongside Windows and even import the user settings - very nice touch there. Everything looked good until rebooting. Then, grub error 18. Not only can I not boot Linux, my previous Windows install is now also inaccessible. Indeed, as far as any non-expert knows, it is completely destroyed. This is *not* acceptable. The installer *must not ever* do this. The stories that circulate, after it happens to someone trying Linux out for the first time, do irreparable damage to the reputation of Ubuntu and of Linux in general. Bugs like this stop bug #1 from ever being fixed. They will not get reported, because the user now has no bootable system. Sure, they can run the live CD they just tried to install off. Are they likely to, now that it has just apparently nuked their machine? Now, I know and you know what the issue is. The kernel and grub data has been put beyond 137GB. If I go back and reinstall the whole thing, putting a /boot partition at the start of the disk, it'll work. I looked around: this bug gets reported all over the place, and always this workaround has been suggested in response and the matter then considered closed. If Ubuntu needs a /boot partition at the start of the disk then the installer should make one itself. If it can't do that because existing partitions are in the way, then it should explain the problem and must stop the installation. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Installing next to Windows places Linux beyond 137GB and makes system unbootable (grub error 18). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379348 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 310448] Re: Touch pad disable when resuming after suspension
Following the advice in this gentoo-wiki article http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Lenovo_3000_N100#Stuck_num-lock_and_disabled_touchpad_when_waking_from_sleep I solved the problem by adding "8042.nomux i8042.reset" to the kernel options in grub. The laptop still wakes up immediately after suspend to RAM but this seems to be a seperate bug. -- Touch pad disable when resuming after suspension https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310448 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
