[Bug 190125] [NEW] mkdosfs segfault if enter invalid value for -b
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: util-linux mkdosfs will segfault if I enter an invalid value for -b. I had accidentally typed mkfs.vfat instead of mkfs.ext2 but then entered the -b 4096 option correctly and pressed Enter. The result was: Segmentation fault (core dumped) Of course, this occured because -b is also an option used by mkdosfs (mkfs.vfat) so it was trying to use the sector value 4096, which I am assuming is invalid. Shouldn't mkdosfs be able to determine if a value for -b is invalid and if so then fail gracefully? Re: [Bug 190087] [NEW] None of the TeX engines installed in texlive-full know where any of the fonts are

Yes. That's why I said pdflatex was just for reference :-) > Is your file *REALLY* in utf8 encoding? What is your LOCALE? Yes, my file is UTF-8 (that was actually the first thing I verified[1]). The author of XeTeX has actually recommended that inputenc not be used with XeTeX; I tried numerous permutations of googled things in trying to get that document to render before settling on the empty header. However, since you recommended inputenc, here's the error that inputenc gives with pdflatex: ! Package inputenc Error: Unicode char \u8:Т not set up for use with LaTeX. [Bug 99432] Re: wireless network not working now
I have given up with the network drivers and now compile my own modules. The standard ra0 driver does not work with the "iwpriv" commands which is a real pain for me. I now use the ra0 driver from the web site where the original (with iwpriv) commands work. The reason for this is that I now use the bonding module, and bond the ra0 and the eth0 into the bond0 interface. This allows me work on gigabit wired interface when available, but if I need to move it to another room, I disconnect the wired interface and it fails over to the wireless interface. WIth bonding, the MAC address of the active interface (only one running at a time) is the same, correspondingly the DHCP address is also the same, so that my MySQL server on the laptop with a public LAN address is still available on wither wired or wireless. The same MAC and IP is important whichever network is active. Bonding does not work with wpa-supplicant which is the standard with Ubuntu driver for my wireless card running WPA or WPA2. I would not be happy going to WEP or no security just to fit in with the standard distribution, especially after they have removed functionality that was (and still is) important to the way I work. Summary:- the fault is still there, functionality has been removed for whatever reason, and I have to hack the system with my own compiled modules to get it to do what it did before in previous releases. If you have another work-around that meets the above specification, please feel free to contact me. [Bug 121641] Re: strange screen behaviour - changes size
I'm using Ubunt 7.10, Intel dual CPU E4600 2.4Gz, with a Gigabyte M/B GA-945GCM-S2L (with integrated graphic controller), and a 22" ViewSonic LCD monitor. I'm using the normal out of the box Ubuntu (not KDE). Sometimes the screen decides to shrink and leave a 2" wide black space on the left side. Sometimes I manage to make an "Auto image adjust" via the monitor's menu; (sometimes I have to access 'System-->Administration --> Screens and graphics and play with the settings and press OK for the monitor's menu to do the trick, but sometimes I have to re-start the computer for the screen to re-adjust.
