[Bug 49364] Re: message filters on IMAP don't work
Ah, i didn't realize that. When I enabled it, it didn't work at first, but then after I restarted the program, it worked. I'm tempted to argue that message filters should be on by default for mailboxes besides "On This Computer". These days, what proportion of Evolution's target userbase is recieving mail in /var/spool/mail, as opposed to via POP/IMAP/Exchange? I guess there's messages from cron and such... But I digress... [Bug 1] Re: Microsoft has a majority market share
Yeah, I can verify this bug. When I bought my laptop, they said the only way I can get a refund for Windows is to return the whole laptop. So I was stuck paying for software I NEVER used. It's hard to find stores around here that will sell computers without Windows. I am sick of paying for software I don't use. (The computers that come with Linux were too expensive for me.) This bug is so critical, the only way to fix it on my laptop was to format the entire hard drive and install Ubuntu! I don't fully understand why PC manufacturers don't preinstall Ubuntu and other free OSes on their systems because they are royalty-free. -- Microsoft has a majority market share https://launchpad.net/bugs/1 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 43745] Re: Ubuntu corrupts real time clock on some dell laptops
Ken, I think your problem is a different one. The "thorough" boot mode made things worse for me. When the CMOS clock is corrupted then my D820 was still able to boot but the hardware clock was no longer working and the counter in the grub boot menu was no longer counting down. The "Time-of-day-clock stopped" error appears when the BIOS does a thorough check once (which is also done when a BIOS setting is changed) while the CMOS clock is corrupted. During my extreme-rebooting tests I had activated Thorough boot mode so I can immediately see when the BIOS gets corrupted. So at least for the Latitude D820 the "thorough" boot mode does not fix the "time-of-day clock stopped" error. That's why I think that your problem may have nothing to do with this bug. Or maybe your laptop reacts totally different to this bug than other laptops. -- Ubuntu corrupts real time clock on some dell laptops https://launchpad.net/bugs/43745 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 33504] Re: Server failure with S3 86c764/765 [Trio32/64/64V+]
My current workaround for my Pentium II system with a Number Nine 9FX Motion (S3 Vision 968) is to use the VESA driver. It is really slow, and it doesn't allow me to use the whole 2MB VRAM on the card (VESA only allows 1MB VRAM on this card), but at least it works at 800x600 with 16-bit colors, so I can at least *use* the system... I hope this gets fixed soon, because this computer performed really well with the native driver. -- Server failure with S3 86c764/765 [Trio32/64/64V+] https://launchpad.net/bugs/33504 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Oh yes, I can't attach /var/log/syslog, /var/log/partman and /var/log/installer/syslog, as mentioned in the error text since the machine doesn't work. By not working I mean two things.
