Re: [Talks] Nokia n86
I do not know N86 but you will go to Menu and Settings, then Connectivity. There you arrow through the various items and select WLAN Wizard, the wizard will look for your wi-fi. With your cursor on your wi-fi or by arrowing to it. Then press options and arrow to set access point. Select this and you will be asked for your wi-fi key. Insert this and press OK. You should then be informed that a new access point has been set. Sorry this is just a rough guide. -original message- Subject: [Talks] Nokia n86 From: "Jim L" Date: 27/11/2011 2:13 am Heya folks, This phone is awesome what it can do but boy oh boy has it got features galore, I need help on 2 issues at this stage am using the phone a lot connecting to my wireless lan, I have no problems connecting, do what I need to do for a short time but where can I go in the features/options to stay connected permanantly whilst I am at home and close to my network? As it doesn't seem to stay connected, this is important when I'm trying to use skype via my wireless lan for example Also what is the battery model and best battery that gives longlife to purchase Cheers, Jim ___ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/ ___ Talks mailing list Talks@talksusers.com http://lists.talksusers.com/mailman/listinfo/talks Hosting of this list provided courtesy of: eHosting Limited: http://www.ehosting.com/ and Talknav Inc. http://www.talknav.net/
Re: [Talks] Nokia n86
Hi Jim, the only way you will permanently stay connected to your wifi is to not exit out. If you press key 2 to close the web browser, this also closes the session with the wifi until you open web browser again. The only way is to open your application and leave it open. So log into skype and once logged in, press and hold the menu key. You will then get a list of running applications. Arrow to the standby screen and you can stay that way as long as your battery lasts. I haven't looked at a long life battery for the N86 as when i last looked, there wasn't one. I've ended up by buying about 5 of them and cycling through them. It keeps my phone running at all times. Hope this helps, Carla. -original message- Subject: [Talks] Nokia n86 From: "Jim L" Date: 27/11/2011 2:14 am Heya folks, This phone is awesome what it can do but boy oh boy has it got features galore, I need help on 2 issues at this stage am using the phone a lot connecting to my wireless lan, I have no problems connecting, do what I need to do for a short time but where can I go in the features/options to stay connected permanantly whilst I am at home and close to my network? Hi. I have a Pac Mate Omni as well and had no luck using JoikuSpot with it. Using it with a laptop or another phone worked fine though.
