[Talks] talks pronouncing differently
Hi friends, i am using talks premium5.20.3. recently i've made some changes in talks's default dictionary, cause it was not announcing days properly. for that i did the following: i went to talks and zooms premium>user dictionary>add new. i typed We, and replaced it with Wednesday. i applied it to global application, and, and whole words only yes. now , wherever it finds We, it reads it as "Wednesday". i actually want this pronounciations to be applied to calendar, only, since it does not read days properly there. it reads We for Wednesday. please help me in this matter, as i feel frustrated wehn it reads like this everywhere. first, remove the "we" entry that you made previously. second, launch the calendar app. third, within the calendar app, press talks and longkey1 for the talks setting. fourth, recreate the "we" entry and now dont use global, select calendar. Re: [Talks] Talks suddenly hangs while reading anything
In most cases when Talks stops talking, it is still running. If you 1. Switch to another tts speech will come back. Or 2. Unload the tts and reload the tts, again speech comes back. I've seen this with all version of Talks. One of the above ways in most cases will get the phone talking again. Instructions were sent out on what to do earlyer this week on both of the above. As far as i know no one has tried them to see if they work in there case. Produced on a Nokia N95 smart phone using a Symbian based screen reader. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone. I fought with nokia people for the replacement of the handset, but they refuced to do so. So, if ur phone's firmware is nice, then i'll tell her to update it. Please reply. Well in my humble view, that should not be the solution. There is a problem. Could we get some help please? Its not the phone, its not the firmware. What it is? I'd give anything to know! anthony There is nothing stopping you from putting on other Eloquence TTS stuff like UK (ENG) as a example! Then you will have both ENU and ENG. This give you two TTS drivers. If you know other languages you can install them as well. So it has nothing to do with me having more then one voice beings you can install what you like for the license that you have. If you have Eloquence! Then you can install all the Eloquences if you like one after another. Then they will show up in the Speech selection. If a problem isn't recreatable it for the most part unfixable! You have to be able to recreate a problem in most cases to find out what is going on before it can be fixed. Like I said, wants in a while Eloquence will stop talking for me! But most of the time, I can switch to another TTS with the Talks long Clear and then arrowing up 1 time to UK Eloquence and pressing Select to get speech back. Then I can redo the command and then arrow back to US Eloquence and keep reading. But this means you have to have both UK and US English Eloquence TTS installed before this will work. If you do not ahve any other TTS but US Eloquence installed! Then when you do a Talks long Clear wait 3 seconds and then do a Talks clear to reload the US Eloquence will also work. Note in this case there are two command being issues. The first on is a long press of the clear and the 2nd one is a short press of it. Both require the Talks key to be pressed first.
