They have a newer version of the Symbian operating system. Talks does work on both of them. One thing to note, the C5 external speaker is much lower then what is on your N95-8GB* model. So if you run Talks at lets say volume 5 (default) on the N95-8GB* model! This would be like running the C5 at volume 9 or so with Talks with the latest firmware for the C5. I can not say how the 6700 slide is as far as speaker volume compared to the N95-8GB* model being I do not own one of them. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone. Well if you use the built in firmware check on the phone, Talks will read that screen. In saying that, being that is a older phone! Nokia is putting out fewer and fewer updates for older phones! So will there be a update for the N79 will depend on the firmware on it to start with. Myself, I use the Nokia Software program on the PC to do my firmware udpates being I get a lot more information from it over what is on the phone. The phone goes quiet and you get no status information of what if anything is going on. You'll just have to sit back and wait and hope for the best if you do it on the phone. Hi Steven, I surely hope that it's going to be released with many changes and new features. This is also in competing with Mobile Speak, especially in OVI Maps by them. Reading the menus is considered wonderful but allowing Mobile Speak to speak as position changes just by going into "My Position" menu is great, extremely helpful. No need to use walk or drive mode, just go into My Position and leave it there and it will be spoken out as you move along walking or driving. All the best. first of all, i guess that this problem does not related to talks at all, but if the list allow, see my following suggestion. check whether the "packet data" is set to "when available", if yes, change it to "when needed". 3rd edition device: go to menu > settings/control pannel > settings/phone settings > connection > packet data 5th edition device: go to menu > settings > connectivity > admin.settings > packet data note: the location may be varies from one model to another model, but the setting use to named as "packet data" and should be set to "when needed".
