first of all, i guess that this problem does not related to talks at all, but 
if the list allow, see my following suggestion.

check whether the "packet data" is set to "when available", if yes, change it 
to "when needed".

3rd edition device: go to menu > settings/control pannel > settings/phone 
settings > connection > packet data

5th edition device: go to menu > settings > connectivity > admin.settings > 
packet data

note: the location may be varies from one model to another model, but the 
setting use to named as "packet data" and should be set to 
"when needed".
