Re: [RE-wrenches] Measuring an RV for load
I'd get the 120 v/ 15 A adapter, your customer probably already has one, and then you can plug the Killowatt into that. Otherwise, I've made up cables with the outer jacket removed, so I can put a clamp meter on the individual hots. A third option would be to wire an old utility electric meter with the 240/ 50A plugs on either end. I have a Sol-Ark 12, old stock, that I’m thinking of installing at my residence, I have 14kW grid tie with enphase micro’s but want to add some Homegrid batteries for a backup option. I know it’s redundant to have the micros and the Sol-Ark but I also have a separate system with nearly 4kW off-grid, charging batteries. Re: [RE-wrenches] Measuring an RV for load
I’ve been drooling over the Fluke 1732 Power Measurement Logger for the past few year but can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money. Have any wrenchers used it? Jay, it looks like there is a product called the Power Watchdog PWD50EPO that is specifically designed for RVs and acts as a surge protector. The device has Bluetooth capability and also monitors power characteristics (volts, amps, kW, kWh). It sounds like this is what you are looking for. Re: [RE-wrenches] Sol-Ark 12 integration
Ron What is the primary goal? To get more power on your loads? To get more grid export? I have installed a bunch of outback products and you can’t beat the surge capacity and longevity. As you well know. Solark has an excellent grid zero feature with CTs. Outback and Solark both will work with the HomeGrid batteries. Solark will be closed loop and outback will be just fine open loop. Do you have a generator in the mix?
