I'm highly debating it, personally. I'd love to have a Fixie Fop Chariot to go with my Bleriot. I'm not sure if it's too small or not. And if I'd get slaughtered by bringing a new bike home. Re: [RBW] Fitting a chariot
Allan, Like you, my PBH is 85 cm, though I'm an inch shorter than you at 5'-8.5". I used to ride a 56cm Trek 760, which always felt a little cramped. I now divide my time between a 60.5cm Riv custom and a 59cm Bleriot. (or is it 58? I forget.) I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a 59 or 60 to test ride in Portland, and I'd be more surprised if you didn't love it almost immediately. -- Jon Grant, who should be drawing pictures, in dark Austin, Texas -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Hey, Mitch, Yep, cash. We're going to divide up the stuff by price point, post a Riv employee in each area, and (like last time), you pay for what you want in that section, and then move on to the next pile of stuff- with your purchase, and minus your cash. It's a simple system. Of course, exceptions can be made for items exceeding $1000. I guess I better check and see if we have any items exceeding $1000. Bottom line- Kash Is King! The bike and wheelset are both used. Bike shows normal use from mounting racks, chainsuck, a couple a paint chips. Wheels are very solid, completely true and the hubs spin great. I love this bike, just realizing its too small. Probably gonna get another Atlantis or maybe Hunq. Id like to get $1500 for everything, but am open to negotiations. I have a Mark's Rack that I've used daily for 2 years... Its used, not abused..I never cut the struts so it's pretty much the way I received it from Rivendell. It's dirty, I can polish it up before I ship. $65.00 Also I have a Nitto R-15 rear pannier rack that I purchased off this list early in the summer. It's basically the Top Rack that Riv sells with the addition of being able to carry two small panniers. For some reason it doesn't suit me. It does have the struts cut to fit my Bleriot perfectly...but if they are too short for you, Riv sells them. $75.00 These, Prices don't include shipping but I will ship as cheaply as I can. pics: http://tiny.cc/fo22n -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: Help me choose a Rivendell
A Homer Hilsen sounds like it could be for you. I don't know your size but 100 mile rides are long and being comfortable is a must for me. I owned a Ram and liked it, but for longer rides I prefer my 58cm Saluki 650b.The Hilsen overlaps in wheel size at about the 57-58cm mark. The Hilsen or Saluki has the option to fit fatter tires w. fenders compared to the Rodeo. [RBW] Re: Anyone hear ever use a camping hammock?
I first heard about Hennessey Hammocks right here on the RBW list, and I plan to get one. The down side is that hammocks for people over 6'1" and 200# are significantly more expensive. I have yet to S24O (by bike), and that seems like the most straightforward setup here in Oregon, where we have an abundance of damp ground and skinny trees.
