turn table too fast, need to make adjustments with PC

2008-01-30 Thread stever2525
I am copying some vinyl records for someone, but this turn table is a half
step too fast, in other words, a song that is suppose to be in the key of e
plays in f.
Can Goldwave fix this problem and how would I do this, or would I need
something like Sound Forge.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

You could do it in Sound Forge by lowering the pitch by a semitone, but I don't
know about Goldwave.

Re: turn table too fast, need to make adjustments with PC

2008-01-30 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
Hello stever25,
I've had some turntables to do that to me too.
If your turntable is a belt driven turntable, then that could be apart of
the problem.
Sometimes the belt is a little to tight.
This is why it plays records a step to fast.
Also, the motor could be a little off.
If it uses the kind of a motor that's usually found in tape recorders, then
the bias will need to be adjusted a little.
If it is adjusted to 3.5 MV, then it will play records in the key of e.
But if the bias is higher then 3.5 MV, then it will play a little faster
then that.
You will need a technician to do this for you.
Trying to use a peace of software to correct that kind of a problem won't
really fix it for you.
My best regards!
  John.

What's wrong with the mic? I like it- its clear, precise, and picks up

RE: Internal sound

2008-01-30 Thread Cornell Ligon

I meant to note, that notebook is a great unit - I was to buy my wife that
model, but she backed out not wanting to spend the money at the time.

BTW:
I noticed your headline at the bottom - the Mets have a much better chance now
with acquisition of Johanne santanna with Pedro as his mentor. Pedro was a
thorn in my Indians side in the late 90s when he was in his prime.

Sorry for off topic in message, but couldn't resist...

Re: Internal sound

2008-01-30 Thread Tyler Wood
Which notebook? Mine, nod, I like it. The only problem I have in regards to
sound is the stario mix doesn't like being turned down, what I meant by that
was that it doesn't like to turn the volume down even if its at 0 percent,
putting it any higher than 4 percent makes the audio distort but doesn't
make it any louder.

Replay Music & Napster

When using Replay Music to record from Napster in Vista, use the

I thought napster was discontinued? lol, I guess you learn something
everday. Last I heard, napster got sued a long while back and, well, I don't
know. It didn't really interested me since I like to get my music free (yes,
I know, that's horrible, but, well, being unemployed, it kind of makes

Albert, the Amazon downloads are encoded at 256 KBPS.

personally I don't think Amazon has a good variety of older music. a lot of it
seems to be tributes to artists and such. For example, Nat Kin Cole and Johnny
Mathis tracks were pretty few in numbers.
