Thanks for the info.  I have used EMusic for older tunes rather successfully
in the past.

Albert, the Amazon downloads are encoded at 256 KBPS.

personally I don't think Amazon has a good variety of older music. a lot of
it seems to be tributes to artists and such. For example, Nat Kin Cole and
Johnny Mathis tracks were pretty few in numbers.
