don't do it without 1. using your on board card. You won't be able to hear your screen reader. 2. use sighted assistance. 3. Re: GoldWave Question
Mary,'' In Goldwave, go to Options, Control Properties. On the Volume tab, make sure the Volume Device drop-down is set to the card you want to record from - the one you have the break-out box plugged into. Also, make sure the line-in/mic-in check box is checked, assuming that's where you have the break-out box plugged into the card. Also, on the Device tab, make sure you have the Record Device set to the card from which you are recording, and the record quality set appropriately. - Original Message - From: "mary dole" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. Yes, Press F11 and right arrow to the devices tab and then tab down till you find the recording device and you can change it there. Then if you tab back up to the tabs and arrow to the volume tab you can adjust your volume for the device there. RE: Reinstalling Sound Card Software
In theory, this works. When I did it, after the reboot, my drivers didn't initialize and I was stuck with a silent machine. If you are using Jaws, call tech support or find someone who knows how to change the jaws.ini file to work with the on board card. Hope it hasn't been disabled. This is a task that needs to be done carefully.
