Hello Again, 

My problem isn't connecting to the break-out box, but in getting
GoldWave to recognize it. Is there a place in the program to select
sound cards, etc.? Many thanks to all.

I suggest you try running a cable from the line in jack of your sound
card 
to the headphone jack of your device.
