Hi,

Does anyone use or know where I can find something to catalog my dvd
collection either by using the dvd itself or by scanning the bar codes with
the scanner?

Thanks.

Macromedia Flash

2006-11-25 Thread Gary Wood
Hi all. I posed this question to the PC Audio list over two weeks ago, but got
no response. This concerns Macromedia Flash. This should be a pc audio
related issue, because there is some audio related to flash content; but if
it's not related to pc audio, please let me know: I had the flash player
installed with this computer, I believe; and subsequently, I came across a
program that I'm trying to use, and the instructions said that I may have to
uninstall the flash player; so I did that, thinking that it might solve that
problem; but actually, it didn't. Now, I came across a website which I was
able to traverse with no problem, the Panasonic.com website; but now, I can't
do that because they use flash content. I tried to download and reinstall the
flash player by going to macromedia.com, but the website won't let me do that
there. I read on their site that flash is installed with Windows XP, but is
there another way I can get that back, without having to reinstall Windows. I
think that would be a drastic step. Someone told me that maybe something got
put into the registry that won't let me do that. Help! Please! Then maybe I
won't be so cranky. Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me, regardless!

Re: Macromedia Flash

2006-11-25 Thread Keith Gillard
Hi,

If you are using jfw why not just go into configuration options and under
HTML go to the advanced tab and choose ignore flash on websites. It won't
solve your problem with the player but you should be able to read the
Panasonic site. That's assuming of course you are using jaws.

BTW: I don't remember seeing your post of one week ago.

Subject: Macromedia Flash

Hi all. I posed this question to the PC Audio list over two weeks ago, but
got no response.
Now, I came across a website which I was
able to traverse with no problem, the Panasonic.com website; but now, I
can't do that because they use flash content. I tried to download and
reinstall the flash player by going to macromedia.com, but the website won't
let me do that there. I read on their site that flash is installed with
Windows XP, but is there another way I can get that back, without having to
reinstall Windows. I
think that would be a drastic step. Someone told me that maybe something
got put into the registry that won't let me do that. Help! Please! Then
maybe I won't be so cranky. Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me,
regardless!

Re: Macromedia Flash

2006-11-25 Thread Gary Wood
Hi Keith! Thanks! No problems! I sent it two weeks ago; but I have no
complaints. I thought that if it was off topic, then maybe I might not get
a response; but anyway, thanks for your reply! If I don't get my Macromedia
problem solved, then I'll try that with Jaws. Sometimes you forget about
the Jaws features when you don't have to use them. Loll! I did get an
ECard from somebody, but I don't know who, but if I can reinstall the
player, maybe I can read it.

2006-11-25 Thread Gary Wood
Hi Rick! I tried it, but it still didn't seem to work. I got a message
that I may need to click the bar at the top of the screen to install the
player, and something about watching something when the player has been
installed.

Re: Macromedia Flash

2006-11-25 Thread Richard Claypool
Hi,

You don't have to click the bar .. well, you might have to. the vidoeo
isn't something you have to worry about. click on the download link, and
wait awhile, it should then come up with a question asking if you want to
install flash.

Now, the bar at the top of the screen is a standard windows xp thingy asking
if you want to install said program.

I didn't have that bar popup, but tht might be because I told xp to trust
macro media inc.

You can use your jaws curcor, and look from the top of the screen.

I'd just wait and see what happens.

Again, the movie is no big deal as it's just soemthing I never worried
about.

Hope this helps,
Rick

Re: Accessible Dvd catalog program for windows

2006-11-25 Thread Gary Petraccaro
There are two programs which might work if their developers put more thought
into their interfaces.
www.readerware.com
has three which will catalog books, music, and dvds via title, barcode, or
isbn. We need to explain the need for accessibility to the developers.
Another set is from
www.collectorz.com
and does the same thing except it's a bit more accessible if you're willing to
deal with mouse equivolents. This is somewhat useable, but the developer still
needs to be brought up to speed.
I used WE perhaps JFW would be more meaningful, but I don't know.

Hi all. I posed this question to the PC Audio list over two weeks ago,
but got no response. This concerns Macromedia Flash. This should be a
 pc
audio related issue, because there is some audio related to flash
 content;
but if it's not related to pc audio, please let me know: I had the
 flash
player installed with this computer, I believe; and subsequently, I
 came
across a program that I'm trying to use, and the instructions said that
 I
may have to uninstall the flash player; so I did that, thinking that it
might solve that problem; but actually, it didn't. Now, I came across
 a
website which I was able to traverse with no problem, the Panasonic.com
website; but now, I can't do that because they use flash content. I
 tried
to download and reinstall the flash player by going to macromedia.com,
 but
the website won't let me do that there. I read on their site that
 flash
is installed with Windows XP, but is there another way I can get that
back, without having to reinstall Windows. I think that would be a
drastic step. Someone told me that maybe something got put into the
registry that won't let me do that. Help! Please! Then maybe I won't
 be
so cranky. Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me, regardless!
