I'd like to contribute a module for Julian Day (JD) number
to/from conversions that are absolutely accurate from 1/1/ BC to 12/31/
AD to the second (perhaps a wider range of years if my testing proves the
routines reliable).

My module differs from other CPAN contributions in that
it:

1) Assumes our current 7-day week as a continuous series of
days from ancient to future, completely incorporating full rules of leap years
as though leap year rules existed across the range of all years as
well.

2) It uses fractional part of number to encode time of day to
the second

3) Uses 12:00:00 UTC as it's change of day as per it's
intended purpose (astronomical observations done during night so midnight is JD
fraction .5

4) JD 0 is 1/1/4713 BC  12:00:00 UTC

5) For ease of use I assume that non-existent year zero is
treated as 1 BC and the Gregorian shift is handled seemlessly by forcing all the
days from 5-OCT-1582 to 14-OCT-1582 to JD 2299161 to maintain unbroken 7-day
weeks

6) Day-of-the-week function included due to 12:00:00 UTC
bias as $dow=abs(floor($jd+.5)) % 7

7) Day-of-the-year function also included.

I will probably include a few other date/time related function
(not parsing) as yet to be determined.

Thanks!

A short description of what I'm planning to contribute:
A cool little package called File::CacheDir, which manages caching files
and cleanup without looking through a directory full of files and without
a cron. The user passes a filename, a base path and a time to live and
based upon the time to live, a filename with full path is returned. When
time to lives expire, directories automatically get cleaned up.
Can also be used for automatically backing up files, or doing whatever
you like when ttl expires, because the package accepts passed code refs
for each step of the process.

It isn't all that complicated, but it is really cool and has a ton of
uses. I would just like to share it with the world.

I sent PAUSE Distribution file: Fake-Encode-0.03.tar.gz, then I got a

Fake/Encode.pm has "$VERSION = 0.03;".
META.yml has "version: 0.03"
and
Distribution file is "Fake-Encode-0.03.tar.gz"

Why I got message "version: undef"?

Thanks.

Missing name space registrations

2003-02-18 Thread cpan schaffter

I have recently registered three name spaces. I *did* get the mail
acknowledging that I had entered the requests, but I had no acknowledgments
that the name spaces were reserved, nor that they were rejected.

My *problem* is that they still do not show up when I want to 'Edit module
metadata', wich effectively locks me out from maintaining the modules. I
guess I've done something wrong.

These modules are missing (Registration date, Msg. id)

Net::EMI::Common  (Sat, 15 Feb 2003 20:29:06 +0100,
msg00324)
SWIFT::Factory::Tag::Tag15(Sat, 15 Feb 2003 12:43:27 +0100,
msg00316)
SWIFT::Factory::ApplicationHeader (Sat, 15 Feb 2003 08:05:41 +0100,
msg00312)

I *do* have four other modules showing up, it's just these three that are
missing.

I can find back all my registration requests when I search for all my
messages. (I searched for "schaffter" at
http://www.xray.mpe.mpg.de/mailing-lists/modules/ )

I cannot find back any "New module..." messages for these three modules.

Could someone please help me understand what I did wrong and what I need to
rectify?

Best regards
Gustav SCHAFFTER

It also successfully indexed all of the other modules, so only these two
failed. I'm not sure why the version was reported as undef as it was set, but
that may just be a symptom.

Can you make sure that it is properly indexed, and if there's something I need
to do, let me know.

Problem indexing Translate-Fluent [v.0.6.1]

2020-06-19 Thread NEVES at CPAN
Hi,

I've uploaded Translate-Fluent-v0.6.1.tar.gz to pause and I'm getting
an email saying that the indexer failed to index it.

(I tried to upload it before in the namespace Locale::Fluent, but
renamed it, as I thought that the error was caused by Locale namespace
being assigned to perl itself.

The error I'm getting says that:

You appear to be missing a .pm file containing a package matching the
dist name (Translate::Fluent).

That is not the case, I have lib/Translate/Fluent.pm which provides the
specified package. the indexer says that it found 31 .pm files, and
that should include Translate/Fluent.pm.

What am I missing?

Thank you,

Marco Neves
