Perhaps because the authors never submitted them (though I can't know for
sure).

BTW -- and this is just one of my pet peeves -- could you include at least
a short definition for what RIPE is in the module docs? A one- or
two-sentence description would probably suffice, followed by pointers to
the references.

Thanks,

AltaVista::SearchSDK 1.00 ready

2000-08-29 Thread Davide Migliavacca

Hi folks,
as preannounced on my message (2000/07/24) to this list, I have uploaded
release 1.00
of the AltaVista::SearchSDK module to CPAN. The registered maintainer
JTURNER
is willing to give the module over to me. In order to change the module
description and
keep CPAN updated with development, I will need someone to change in the
module database
so that this module points to my id (SHARI).
Thanks in advance,
Davide

MuttAliases?

2000-08-29 Thread Bek Oberin

Got a new module which I've been calling MuttAliases but I
know the name sucks, creates a new top-level thingy which you
all hate, etc. etc.

The module parses the alias files of Mutt (a unix text-mode
mail reader) and enables users to look up a name and email address
from an alias, or reverse-lookup a name from an email address.
I hacked it together for a 'from' script I needed and it looked
potentially useful so I turned it into a module.

Ideas on a proper name for it greatly appreciated. I won't upload
it until the namespace issue is sorted out.=

Thanks in advance,
Gossamer

Re: Net::Whois::RIPE namespace proposal?

2000-08-29 Thread Dana Hudes

I'm not sure quite how this works but I'm the currently active maintainer of
Net::Whois along with the inactive maintainer Chip and therefore I think Chip and I
own the namespace.
Considering that this code was offered in principle as complete many months ago and
only sent to me the evening before this namespace proposal
I think you all are running a bit quick and impatient.
Not to mention you could have asked to have delegation of Net::Whois::RIPE to Chip and
I directly in private.
Slow down, and I'll check out your module and see where it fits with the other
contributed code to handle various RIPE-style domains.

The reason that I contacted you was that I very surprised to find that
none of the Net::Whois modules are in the current 'official' cpan module
list.

Point taken. After having to wait for internal sign-off for so long,
I'm probably a bit _too_ anxious to move on this. Please accept my
apologizes for any breach in approval protocol.

Well I thought [EMAIL PROTECTED] is the cpan name space authority, hence
I contacted them, but perhaps you are a member.

Awaiting your review,

DBIx::Profile

2000-08-29 Thread Jeff Lathan

Hi.

A while back, I registered my namespace, DBIx::Profile. At
least, I thought I did. But when I look at the module list,
http://www.cpan.org/modules/00modlist.long.html#Part2-ThePerl5M,
I don't see my module on it.

After reading over the FAQ again, I can't determine where I went
wrong:
My filename does not match the pattern to stop propagation.
The version number is in the right place.

I would really like to have DBIx::Profile in the module list.

If you would tell me what I need to do, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

jeff
