Re: [MlMt] Two questions about rules
Randy, There is a box in the Rules to select whether it applies to sub-mailboxes: Menu Bar>Mailbox>Rules>Mailboxes and apply it dynamically: Rules>Dynamically displayed mailboxes. Top menu bar at the top of the Rules window. Use of Rules. I use several rules extensively to move messages to respective Junk mailboxes per Source and likewise to Deleted folders and complete deletion out of Deleted mailboxes on a date basis. Total Rules in my system:~20. Respectfully, Henry Seiden - - Techworks Pro Co. Re: [MlMt] Two questions about rules
When I go to to Menu Bar -> Mailbox, I only get "Apply Rules of Mailbox> -> Selected Messages or All Messages. I also don't have a menu bar at the top of the Rules window. [MlMt] Two questions about rules
When creating a rule for a Smart Mailbox, does the rule also apply to the messages contained in submailboxes (e.g., Create "Rule 1" for Smart Mailbox "foobar", will it apply to messages in submailboxes "foo" and "bar')? Second, what is the difference between the criteria From -> Address and From -> Correspondent -> Address? Thank you! ___ mailmate mailing list Unsubscribe: https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

In the top right of the Rules window, the second icon from the right displays "Dynamically displayed mailboxes" as its tooltip. But as I interpret it, this lets you determine when and whether subfolders for the selected folder are displayed, and has no effect on the mailboxes to which rules will be applied. Maybe Henry can further explain what he's trying to suggest. ___ mailmate mailing list Unsubscribe: https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

Assuming a sub-mailbox shows a subset of its parent’s messages, that implies the sub-mailbox will automatically reflect any changes in the parent due to rules that were applied in the parent. The rule will not be re-applied in the sub-mailbox, basically because it’s already been applied. Second, what is the difference between the criteria From -> Address and From -> Correspondent -> Address? I believe MailMate defines Correspondent is the union of the To, From, and CC fields. I’m not sure how that works in the search criteria. Glenn P. Parker glenn.par...@comcast.net ___ mailmate mailing list Unsubscribe: https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] PGP encrypt with mismatched key
Yes, this can be done by configuring GPG appropriately. This is the same configuration that you need to do in order to PGP encrypt to a mailing list, where you need GPG to know that it must encrypt the email to each of the PGP keys of the recipients. You can do this: ``` group = + ``` Best, R On 11 Jan 2025, at 14:54, Pete Resnick via mailmate wrote: Is it possible to send a message to u...@example.com that is PGP encrypted with the key of u...@stupid.test? [MlMt] Issues with custom key bindings
I have noticed that two of the standard custom key bindings (`MailMate.app/Contents/Resources/KeyBindings/Standard.plist`) don't work. These are: 1. `" " = "scrollPageDownOrNextMessage:";`, not even when changing `" "` to `"\U0020"`. It scrolls down, but doesn't move to the next message. 2. `"\U000D" = "openMessages:";`, but when changing `"\U000D"` to `"\U0003" it does work. Also, the numeric key pad keys don't work when using the `"#1"` syntax, but do when using the `"\U0031"` unicode equivalent. I was wondering if these issue were specific to me or if others also had encountered them. ___ mailmate mailing list Unsubscribe: https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] PGP encrypt with mismatched key
I tried this (as well as the KeyMapping described on https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/how-to/add-email-address-to-existing-public-key-domain-mapping-group-feature) and still no luck; it's not finding the key. I tried both the key-id and the fingerprint (the docs on the gpgtools site say fingerprint, not key-id), and it still can't find it. Using MM 6208 on Sequoia 15.1.1 and GPG Suite 3579n. Any other ideas? pr -- Pete Resnick https://www.episteme.net/ All connections to the world are tenuous at best On 12 Jan 2025, at 14:47, Robert Goldman wrote: Yes, this can be done by configuring GPG appropriately.
