unzip software
Hi all, I ran across a .ZIP file that my Mac wouldn't unzip with the default software. A friend on a windows computer could unzip it. The file happened to be a folder that was zipped with zipped files inside of that folder. Can anyone recommend a third party utility that is VO accessible that's more powerful than the built in unzip software. I do also on occasion come across .RAR files, so it would be great if this utility could also handle other compressed file formats. I did look at the Mac app store, but wasn't sure which one I'd have the most luck wiht as far as accessibility goes. renaming .zip file names
Hi, If a file is named firstName.zip and I change the name to secondName.zip, when I unzip the file, the uncompressed file name is firstName.zip. Is there a more simple or elegant solution to this renaming issue other than uncompressing the file, renaming the uncompressed file, then compressing the file with the new name? This is very time consuming. So far, I have been using the native unzipping software and haven't installed any third party zipping/unzipping software on my Mac. I am willing to do so though and plan on getting Unarchiver to unzip files that the Mac can't. Re: dropbox on a Mac
I have the same problem. I'm on an older Mac and not on an M1. I also cannot VO space or VO Shift M on the DropBox menu extra. I have to rout the mouse pointer to the VO Cursor and VO Shift Space to perform a mouse click to get into DropBox options. Re: Notification times out before I can take an a hi, ction
Did you try VO plus F1 plus F1? You might also have to hold down the FN key. It’s the applications chooser. I often find stuff there that I need to take action on. I’ll here some alert or message but VO isn’t focused on it. The only place I find it is in the applications chooser then I arrow up or down until I hear System dialogues or something like that, then i arrow right and then up or down until I find what I’m looking for. Sorry, these directions aren’t precise as I do it automatically without thinking and can’t remember the exact wording and sequence of things. Thanks so much for the reminder on how to get rid of the preview pane. I had forgotten how to do it and had made peace with it. Re: Hiding preview pane in Mail?
Cool. That’s good to know. I’m on Ventura using Column layout and in the email thread they were talking about when in column layout. I played around with my views and even when my preview pane was set to side preview and I turned off column layout my splitter still says horizontal splitter. I wonder if that will change when I update or if I reboot. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the instructions on how to get rid of the preview pane. So, again thanks. ☺️ Cheers, Christina > On Apr 6, 2024, at 8:09 PM, Dave Carlson wrote: > > Christina, > Horizontal vs. Vertical depends on how you have mail set up. Re: Downloading bard books with the mac
Hi, I am on Snow leopard. If I want to see my progress I need to open the downloads window. I can do this by either pressing command plus option, plus L. I can also get to this via the menu bar then going to the window menu drop down. Once, You are in the downloads window in Safari, you can VO around and interact with the list and you can access this info. Also, my mac automatically unzips my DTB files for me once the download is complete. I think there is a setting to have the mac automatically open downloaded items, I think this is why it automatically unzips the files for me. I am sorry, but I cannot remember where I saw this setting. HTH, Christina C. Time Capsule and backing up
Hello listers, My family was considering investing in a time capsule. I had purchased an USB external hard drive for my mac but I cannot get time machine to continue backups on it. I can reformat the hard drive then it MIGHT back up if I am lucky. However, it will not back up again. Anyways, we are also looking at time capsule because we have several computers. My husband had read reviews and some people have a lot of trouble with the time capsules and there were lots of complaints of the hard drives crashing and they lost all of their data. Can you please share your experiences with Time Capsule or a good alternative to backing up our computers. I would much appreciate it. Hi, You can tag with the official iPhone app when you are adding a picture. I've only done it once but I have done it and it wasn't too bad of a process. It was a bit time consuming for me though. :) However, I do not know of a way to tag in a plain status update. I only have tagged with a photo in the official FB app on my iPhone. Re: Time Capsule and backing up
Thanks. I have reformatted the darn thing many times in the Mac extended Journaling. It just won't work and my computer was the only one using it. I even tried formatting the drive in a few other formats. I really believe something is wrong with the drive or it is not truly mac compatible. It's a Seagate usb external hard drive. I never had this problem with my other external hard drive that died on me because my son spilled my coffee on it. I would still appreciate some feedback on Time Capsule before we purchase one. I did receive one kind response from someone on this list. He said that time capsule is working for him. We plan on purchasing apple care for it but I just want something that works and doesn't give me problems. I am not very technically proficient and therefore need something dummy proof. I won't be able to troubleshoot if something doesn't work. :)Thanks, Christina On Jul 6, 2012, at 9:18 AM, Chris Blouch wrote: > Not sure why you can't seem to backup to a local hard drive. iMap mail
Hello, I have a ton of questions and concerns. I want to switch my google blindmaclover mail account from pop to iMap. I went to the website and iMap and Pop are both enabled. However, for the past three years I have been using POP through apple mail. 1. I went over to the google mail website and noticed that all of my e-mails that I deleted via apple mail are still on google. Which is the priority account, google, or apple mail? What I mean is if I start an iMap account for blindmaclover in apple mail, will all of those thousands of e-mails transfer over to my computer? I want to switch to iMap so that I can use my mac and iDevices and they will all match. Currently I do not use the mail app on my iDevices because using POP just isn't practical for me because they don't "sync." 2. Is there a book or anything to help me and walk me through this process. I have sooo many questions and concerns. I've heard of the take control books but I've never purchased any and I do not know if he has a book on google mail and apple products. 3. What about all of the e-mails I already have on my Mac, I do not want to loose all the saved messages I have? 4. What about rules, I have rules set up in apple mail, do I have to set those up in google instead? Thanks and I apologize for my ignorance on this issue. I understand that you all don't have the time to hold my hand and walk me through this but maybe there is a resource someone can pass along to me. Thanks so very much, Christina, who is wondering if I should just start from scratch with a brand new google mail address. :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. exporting rules
Is there any way to import my apple mail rules into gmail. I found in gmail where to import but it seems as though the messagerules.plist is not supported. I am using snow leopard. I really do not want to remake all of my rules in gmail. There are a whole lot. I want to do this so that my e-mails will be filtered through gmail so they will filter for my iPhone. I have done lots and lots of google searches and I have not found anything that says I can or cannot do this. I found directions to import Microsoft Outlook rules into gmail but no help for mac mail. think I got paste to work was : type2phone
Hi, I played around and I did get it to work. I do not know how reliable my method is so if you try this, you might proofread. I am using snow leopard and an iPhone 4 and all is the latest version of software. So, I just typed up some test text in a new e-mail, selected it in the usual way and copied it in the usual way. Then I went over to type to phone and did a triple click home to toggle VO off on my iPhone after I had the curser in the edit box. Then, on the mac with type2phone, I pressed command, plus shift, plus v. I then toggled vo back on my iPhone and the proper text was there. I'm curious if this works for others. HTH, Christina C. Re: Todo app that can sync with iOS
Pardon my ignorance, what are dependencies? I have been looking for a good solution for time management on iOS/mac for a long time. I have not found one because I just need to be able to enter things quickly. As my eyes have worsened over the years, the out of sight, out of mind saying is s true for me. I used to remember everything and now I don't remember anything. I used to see something that would remind me, or jot down a quick sticky note. That is impossible now. Anyways, I used to use IWantSandy.com but they shut down and I loved it. I would just send a quick e-mail and viola. This remember the milk sounds similar. Thanks, Christina C. apple mail, ios mail, folders and labels in gmail aren't playing nice
Hello, I have just switched my e-mail from pop to iMAP. I'm feeling really dumb but I can't get the folders/labels to sync. on the mac side if I put something in say my macvisionaries folder on the gmail side or the iPhone side does not cooperate. In fact, if I create a label in gmail, one is not created in apple mail and vice versa. I tried having a label in gmail and a folder in apple mail with the same name and they still won't sync. I cannot figure this out. I'd appreciate any help. I really want to be able to use my e-mail on my iPhone and I've never been able to do this in two years because I was never brave enough or smart enough to switch from pop to iMAP. Darcy, Can you please tell me which dashboard widget you use. Is it the Milk the Cow at http://code.google.com/p/milkthecow/ Also, I am using Snow Leopard, do I even have a dashboard? I think I do but I cannot figure out how to get there. Thanks and I would appreciate a link to download this widget if this Milk the Cow isn't the correct one. "on my mac" mailboxes
Hi all, I absolutely cannot figure this out. I am on Snow leopard. I do not know how to get my on my mac folders to sync with google imap. What can I do to make them sync? Do I need to move them or something. I do not see a move mailbox command anywhere. Thanks for any help. Re: "on my mac" mailboxes
Thanks. That is indeed the exact article I have been using for this switch from pop to IMAP. I think you shared the link a long time ago and I had it bookmarked for when I had the time to tackle this. It has been very helpful. I had understood from the article that all my folders from my mac would sync over to gmail and all my gmail folders would sync over to apple mail like magic. I did not find anything in the article that actually said this but it sounded like that's how iMAP works. This is not what happened for me at all. None of my apple mail folders migrated over to gmail. I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to move my folders to the gmail folder at the bottom of my mailbox list in the sidebar. Is that what I'm supposed to do? I am having my ten year old do the drag and drop for me since I have no idea how to do that via the keyboard and VO. Thanks for replying. I truly appreciate it. Browsing with Safari has become extremely difficult
I am still using SL and I am using the most current version of Safari. Why am I having so much difficulty navigating around pages. There are just so many odd to issues and I'm frustrated that I cannot efficiently browse the web or use FB mobile with it taking forever or just not being able to shop around online. Either I can't hear what I am typing in a text box/edit field, or I am bounced back to the beginning of the page constantly. I also constantly get the busy busy busy message. There are also other quirks like just being bounced around to various spots on a page or simply not being able to arrow/navigate to a specific portion of a web page. Is everyone else having these quirky issues? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Will upgrading to lion solve the issues? I'm totally frustrated. I've also seen some mention of using chrome but I know nothing about that. Is that a fix? can't get time machine to backup
Greetings and happy 2012, I cannot get time machine to backup. It starts the process then somewhere down the way I get a alert stating that time machine cannot backup. It also says that the problem may be temporary. I am running the most updated version of snow leopard. I originally had time machine backing up to a different external hard drive. However, in November the external hard drive stopped working. So, I asked for a external hard drive for Christmas and got one. My husband set it all up and my mac book was backed up on December 25th. All day yesterday I tried to get time machine to do the backup and it just would not do. The hard drive is a one terabyte usb external hard drive. My hubby had to format the hard drive when we first tried to use it on the 25th. Thanks for any help as to what the problem may be. I have tried all of the simple things I can think of like restarting my mac. :) Christina -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: Right clicking links on a web page?
I encounter this problem with almost every link. The option return is not a solution as I do not want to download the link. I often just want to open the link in a new window. My mouse cursor is set to follow the VO cursor. Then I do a "right click" with the actual mouse by holding control then clicking the mouse. In my case it's actually a track pad. So, I am just careful to not touch the track pad or moving the mouse cursor. I have an old track pad with an actual button for mouse clicking. ripping DVD movies to iTunes format
Hello, Is there a mac app that is voiceover friendly that will allow me to turn the DVD's that I own into a format I can put on my iPad or iPhone for travel. I would like to be able to play them on my iPad and use the adapter to play the movie on a larger screen or the screen in the car. We are going on a road trip and I thought that might be easier than carrying DVD's. This way I can also possibly play the movies at the hotel if the TV has the proper input for videos. Then that would solve the problem of the hotel not having a DVD player. :) I also understand that there may be encryption on the movies that I own. So, I would also like help knowing how to handle this. Also, if I rip a movie into the itunes format, what kinds of movies can I burn? Can I include closed captioning or the track with descriptive video on these movies? If I want to and can include the descriptive video from the DVD onto the iTunes version that I create, how would I do that? Is this calendar app accessible?
Hi, I just have not been able to grasp iCal and therefore, I do not use a calendar app but I need to. Well, this mac app is very appealing to me because all you have to do is type in your event without having to move from edit text boxes and such. It's $19.99 and I don't want to fork out the bucks if it 's not accessible. Has anyone tried the app called fantastical? Here's the link for the US mac app store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fantastical/id435003921?mt=12 Here's also a brief description. I copied with the control plus option plus shift plus C then pasted it below: Meet your new assistant. With native CalDAV support, automatic alarms for new events, and instant search, Fantastical helps you stay on top of your schedule. can't get my macbook to stay shut down
Hi all, Every time I shutdown my macbook it won't stay off. No, I am not hitting restart instead of shut down. A couple of months ago I had to take my mac book to the genius bar so I kept shutting down the computer and it kept restarting. I wanted to turn the computer off before I put it into the bag. Well, I told them about it at the apple store and the problem would not reproduce. Last week I had to travel and I encountered the same problem when trying to pack my laptop. I thought I finally got it to stay shut off but it restarted all on it's own in the bag. So, tonight, I tried to google the problem and I cannot find any help. I have very recently repaired permissions so I don't think that would be helpful. Any ideas? google plus for IOS is here :)
Greetings all, I am still learning Google plus. On first glance the IOS app is, or at least seems to be, much more accessible than through Safari on my mac. So far, I was able to read my stream, read my notifications, see who my "friends" are in my circles and VO also told me which circles those friends are in. I was then able to add one of my "friends to my friends and family circle very easily. So far, I'm impressed. That's all I've tried so far. I don't have much more information but I wanted to get this e-mail quickly so others can try it right away if you were not aware that this google plus app is in the US app store. :) A note, once you're logged in and set up, the first screen does not seem accessible via touch but it is via flicking. :) Here's the link to the app in the US store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google/id447119634?mt=8 Have fun, Christina -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. I too have encountered this many times in Safari and interacting does not help at all. The only fix which seems to work well is to deactivate voiceover and reactivate it. reading messages in mail
I recently updated snow leopard to the latest version and now I cannot get voiceover to automatically read mail messages. I do not use the preview pane so I cannot use vo plus J. Now when I open an e-mail I must interact with the message then arrow over to get voiceover to read the mail message. I know this may sound like a small issue but I find the extra keystrokes time consuming and cumbersome. Is there a fix for this? Re: Pandora on the Mac
Hello, Pandora is so so much easier to use on my iPhone but it can somewhat be used on the mac. I believe all of your account info should carry among devices but I could be wrong. You will have to have someone who is sighted assist you in logging in for the first time. I think. However once you are set up on your computer you should be automatically logged in. If you want to add a new station go to www.pandora.com/backstage and there it's fairly accessible to search for an artist or song and then you can add the station from your search results. It's been a really long time since I've done it on the computer so there's a chance my info is outdated. Some paprika questions
Hi all, I am referring to the recipe manager app, Paprika, for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I understand that the iOS apps are accessible with VO. Is the mac version of Paprika VO accessible? My other question is about the grocery list feature of this app. Can the grocery list be checked off as you use it? Can the grocery list be exported. Currently my family uses Grocery IQ for grocery lists because it sync's across our devices and any changes any of us make updates everyone's list. Oh thanks for the awesome info. :) One more question. Does the meal planning sync at all with apple Calendar? It would be handy to have that all show up on my iPhone or mac calendar. :) Have a super day, Christina On Jan 30, 2013, at 2:48 PM, Esther wrote: > Hi Christina, > > Yes, the Mac version of Paprika is accessible. Oh, I forgot to add, that I did indeed look at mac gourmet but it seemed as though lots of users did report that it was quite buggy and the importing of recips did not seem as robust as paprika nor did it seem constitant. Re: Intonation
H, I am using Alex and maybe that's why I can't really tell much of a difference when I changed the intonation. The only reason I was trying to figure it out is because Alex seems to skip words or blend two words together and it sounds really weird. Then I am finding myself wasting time going back to check my typing only to find that I did type correctly. :) Does anyone else experience this? Unless things have changed, you should be able to get to fantastical from the application chooser. Do you know what that is? I'm not at my computer right now, I think it is VO plus F1 F1. I cannot get gmail pop mail service to work
I don't know what I am doing wrong but I am trying to add a gmail account to apple mail and it just won't work. I have followed all the steps to the best of my ability and I just cannot get it to work. The closest I've come is getting an error message saying that pop.gmail.com cannot be verified and may be a security risk if I continue. Those are not the exact words but it's the general idea. Are there any ideas as to what is going on. I've read everything I could on the gmail website to see why I've gotten this error message and also as to why this is not working at all. I currently have a pop gmail account working in apple mail and I've tried using similar settings for the new gmail address but I cannot get it to work. On the gmail side I did enable pop mail so that isn't the problem. Someone else set up the first gmail account for me but I just cannot seem to figure out how to set up the second account on my own. Re: I cannot get gmail pop mail service to work
The best I can tell I am using the settings explained by gmail. Here goes what I am doing. I am going to mail preferences, then accounts, then add new account. I enter my name in the "full name" field I enter newem...@gmail.com (I put the actual new e-mail address but it's a private address and I don't want to post here smiles) I enter my gmail password Then I click continue. Next screen: I select pop for server type Incoming server is pop.gmail.com username: newem...@gmail.com (I've tried both with and without the "@gmail.com") Then I enter password then I click continue Next screen: I check the check box for use SSL For Authentification I select password Then I click continue Next screen: in the smpt server smpt.gmail.com is entered Use authentification is checked newem...@gmail.com is entered for username and then I entered the password Then I click continue Next screen: Use SSl is checked and password is selected for authentification Then I click continue Next Screen: this screen has the summarery I check the checkbox to take online Then I click create I seem to be able to send a message from my new gmail address using apple mail but I cannot seem to get any. I do not have any understanding as to the difference between the two of them. I do not know what pop is or what imap is. Re: I cannot get gmail pop mail service to work
Thanks Scott. I have checked the port and all seems well. The strange thing is that I seem to not be able to recreate the error message stating that mail cannot verify pop.gmail.com. I understood that message to be a security risk. I will try to set up the account again since I may have been on the right track after all. I deleted the account so I will try to add it again. :) I had tried to copy the error message to paste in the e-mail but I was unsuccessful Thanks, Christina On Nov 15, 2010, at 4:50 PM, Scott Granados wrote: > Just to add to this, > under advanced I seem to have port 995 set under ports. accessible crossword puzzle questions
Hello, Is there even a such thing? Back when I could see better, I used to enjoy doing crossword puzzles. Is there any software packages or online crossword puzzles that are accessible with the mac and voiceover? I could not use vision I would need it to be voiceover accessible. I'm not even sure how something like that would work. :) However, it would be nice to be able to do that again. I'm not even good at puzzles but I enjoy the challenge as well as learning from them. In the past, I would sometimes need the hints or help to solve the puzzle. :) Thanks in advance, Christina --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: iPhone, my first impression
Hi, I'm considering getting an iphone. I've never had an accessible phone. The only thing I've ever been able to do with a cell is place or answer a call. I'd like to be able to do more like use contacts, calendar, and caller id. Since, you've switched from Nokia to iphone would you go back? Do you feel you can do everything and more with the iphone or are there some aspects and features of the Nokias that you miss that I should consider? Are Nokias and the third party text to speech software compatible with the mac? I'm also wondering if I should wait until next summer to purchase an iphone. I wonder what features and such apple is working on for the phone next year. Re: iPhone, my first impression
Thanks so much. :) One of my biggest reasons for wanting an iphone is to support apple and their efforts for the blind and Visually impaired. This is a truly amazing thing for a company to make something accessible right out of the box at no extra cost. Wow! That still amazes me. That is why I switched from the pc to the mac. Well, it is one reason, there were other reasons as well. :) Christina On Oct 1, 2009, at 12:06 PM, Krister Ekstrom wrote: > > > Hi there, i'll answer your questions below: > > 1 okt 2009 kl. 19.45 skrev Christina: > >> Since, you've switched from Nokia to iphone >> would you go back? Re: Book Sense/Victor Stream killer ap?
Hello list, I've been wondering for quite some time if a person can record their own daisy book using the mac and a microphone. I sometimes need someone to read/record a book for me and it would be nice to be able to mark it up with pages and chapters and such. Yuma, Are you in the US? If so you can use and get more info from bookshare.org . You pay a membership and then you can download books in daisy format. They are text based and therefore require a text to speech software or hardware that will play daisy books. I could be wrong but I believe they have free books that do not require a membership. These may or may not be available to people outside the U.S.A. You could check out there website to find out for sure. Re: Listening to Audible dot com samples
It's been a long time since I've been to audible for that exact reason. There is a way via navigating to a certain spot, then routing the mouse pointer to teh voice over cursor, then moving the pointer just a certain way. I did not like that solution and was unsuccessful. I can't remember for sure but I think there are some instructions in the maccessibility website. Maybe it's under the quick tips, but I can't remember and can be wrong. Having said all that I just use itines to hear samples, it's much much easier for me. Itunes have quite a few books that are available on audible. Re: Listening to Audible dot com samples
Ester, Thanks so much for the detailed and very helpful instructions. Wow, I imagine i'll have to practice. I actually stopped using audible and this not being able to listen to samples is a main reason. :) Now I might be able to do it with these instructions. BTW, when listening to samples of books via itunes, the songs table only play that short sample. However, I would go up to the HTML area and go to the page of the book I was interested in and I could vo spacebar on a link to listen to a longer sample. I can't remember the name of the link though. It was something like "sample". Re: How to read entire article on web page.
Hi, I know this is not an option for you under leopard but one of the new features of Snow Leopard is the web spots. When on a page there is a command vo plus command plus n. This jumps to spots on a page that voiceover detects as significant. It helps me out quite a bit. It often will bring me right to the meat of the web page. Then there is a command to read from where the voice cursor is to the end of the page, which can be used once you get to the article or text of interest. The go to next heading is helpful as well and I believe is available in leopard. However, I'm not sure as I did not learn of this until I joined this group and I already had SL. This jumps you right to headings. The rotor in SL is also a huge help in jumping to certain spots on a web page. I love the rotor. I know the information I gave you isn't necessarily helpful to you with leopard. I just wanted to pass it along if you were considering an upgrade or a new computer. skype and voiceover
Hello List, How accessible is Skype? I am running version 2.7.0.330. I need to be able to video chat with someone in Germany. I have had this version for well over a year and I know how to make a call by moving to the table then interacting with it and then pressing return on the name of the person I want to "call". I also labeled a couple of the buttons on the window that opens for the call I am on. I labeled the video button. I've been wondering if other versions are more accessible. This version has a ton of buttons and images that I have no idea what they are. I am often afraid to upgrade when I'm used to something and then find out later that the new version isn't accessible. DH told me that the newest skype is very different than the version I am using. One of the things I would like to be able to do is to have voiceover tell me the status of the person I want to call? Is this possible? I also cannot figure out how to use the chat portion of skype, the part where you type directly back and forth with someone. Is that impossible with skype and voiceover. Re: skype and voiceover
Thanks everyone. Is there a way to get vo to read the status of my contacts. The thing I've been doing is just making the call and seeing what happens. It would be nice to know the status of people. One strange thing is that I have labeled some buttons in skype twice because every time I go back the buttons are not labeled anymore. It's weird. I did not know I could have VO auto read the help tags on buttons and such. I had been using vo plus shift plus h to get vo to read the help tags. Those were the buttons I was able to label. Otherwise, I would not have known what the buttons were. So, do I use VO utility to set VO to automatically read the help tags? Vuscan and OCR software was Vuscan free?
Thanks so much Anne and Ester. I think I have a clearer picture. I just want to confirm that I understand. Vuscan is used more for the actual task of scanning, sort of like the driver/software that comes with the scanner ; while read iris is a better or more robust OCR software? So, the two are used together. I'm really glad you let me know about version 12. I appreciate that. Is Read Iris the only OCR software that works with the mac and is also VO compatible as well as accessible to the blind and visually impaired? We had one of those all in one printers and sold it because we could not get the scanner portion of it to work with the mac. It was a cannon. Did we have difficulties because it was an all in one printer/ scanner? So, I will also need to figure out which scanner to purchase. :) Thanks so much, Christina On Oct 13, 2009, at 2:30 PM, Anne Robertson wrote: > > Hello Esther and everyone,On Oct 13, 2009, at 10:22 PM, Esther wrote: >> you may not be able to easily and accessibly complete a >> good scan using the purchased software and in addition it may not >> have >> support for your scanner driver, especially if you are using an old >> scanner. Re: strang ecrackle
I have got this as well. I've never tried this as I realized I do not like having cords attached to me and the computer while on my mac. But, try going into the voiceover utility and go to sounds. Then uncheck the Enable positional audio. You can click on the help button there and it sort of gives you an idea of what that is. Well, I don't know if this will do anything but good luck. Thanks. Yeah, I can't seem to get the labels to "stick". I've labeled them several times and they still don't want to stay. Oh well. Well, at least I know there seems to be no easy way to find out someone's status. I thought I was missing something. but I guess I'm not. vmwarefusion and zoomtext
Hello list, I was wondering if zoomtext works in the the windows virtual environment using vmware fusion. I've heard of some of you using jaws while in windows with vmware fusion. I really have limited vision but what love to use zoomtext to look at some photos of family. I do not currently have windows installed on my macbook anywhere and have not had any need for windows. However, I don't feel the zoom that comes equipped on the mac does a good enough job on the photos. I don't know if it's the monitor on my macbook, the zoom on the mac, or my decreased vision, but any photos are very blurry, pixelated, and washed out. So, wanted to see if zoom text would be a better option. I'm not thrilled about putting windows on my mac but it seems that many of you do this with no problems.
