Re: Using Drop Box to share TXT files between Mac and iPhone.

2024-10-15 Thread Bradford Snyder
Not sure what could be the issue.
I suggest keeping both your Mac and iPhone online at all times.
Also, make sure both devices are on current versions of their respective OS.
You say you are using Voice Dream Writer on your iPhone, and I assume Text Edit
on your Mac. Neither should be a problem.
You may want to try using Drafts to edit files. It has a version for both Mac
and iOS, and is designed for collaboration between platforms.
Drafts may be used for free, but the full version cost only $25 USD per year.

That’s all I can think of.
Good luck.

Also how do I edit a TXT file on the iPhone. I am currently trying to do this

Hi Paul,

I think VD Write saves it’s files to the iCloud, Writer folder. Is it possible
the file has been opened from Dropbox and ended up with the updated version in
iCloud so you now have two copies of the file?

This issue has been reported by others using Sequoia.
To resolve this issue try the following:

1. Go to VoiceOver Utility > Verbosity, and select the Text tab.
2. Navigate to the item labeled "When text attributes change
“, and select Do Nothing from the pop up menu.
3. next, navigate to the item “Read numbers as”, and select Words from the pop
up menu.

HTH.

I haven't yet, because I can't decide what to change them to. I definitely
want to change them, though. I was thinking about making one of them messages,
but I don't like the idea of giving anyone who picks up my phone access to my
messages.
Cheers,
Donna

memory problem?

2024-10-15 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Hi,

I keep getting a pop up message from clean my mac tht I am running out of both
virtual and physical memory. I run the clean my mac modules and everything
seems to check out fine. But this keeps on popping up almost daily. There is
almost nothing on my hard drive to take up space. I keep most of my files on
an external hard drive. I can't figure out where the memory hogs are. Running
a 2013 macbook air with big sur.

Anything would help!

Thanks!

Cait

Re: memory problem?

2024-10-15 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Lots of times when I get the error, I only have one thing open or am doing a
quick look at a file... So confusing! :)

Thanks,
Cait

This type of error is running memory, not storage.
You can either quit some applications that are running, but depending on which
program that is consuming memory, you might need to reboot.
