Help with weird error message
Hi all, A couple of days ago we figured out that my husband, after changing his Apple ID, updated his Apple ID on his phone, but not on his very old iPad—approx 2013. He’s now trying to sign in to his iPad with this newer creds. He got an error saying that he could no longer sync with iCloud messages because the accounts were different. This makes no sense to either of us. It seems like somehow, his old Apple ID is still active. Is that even possible? Also, when I iMessage him, the message goes to his phone, but not his iPad. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? TIA, Donna -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. A Quick Question about iOS Photos and a Follow-up
Hello Everyone, I hope your summer is off to a good start, although, now that I think about it, summer doesn’t officially begin until later this month (smile). After all these years, I finally decided to start using iCloud Photos. Until now, I have been keeping my photos on my beloved Windows PC but, as I take more and more photos, the iCloud photos option began looking more attractive. On my iPhone 14, I open a photo in the photos app. In the details area, I enter a caption, such as, “Mark’s Crystal Ball.” My quick question: Isn’t Voice Over supposed to read the caption of that photo when I land on it as I browse through my photos in any given view? If so, please tell me what Voice Over configuration I should use. As to the follow-up: I received my new walking pad. I absolutely love, love, love it and think it will be a perfect device for anyone who is blind or low vision because (1) it has tactile button controls, (2) it has easily retractable handrails, and (3) it comes completely already assembled, out of the box. But I want to wait a few days, just to put it through it paces before posting about it, on-list. Okay, I think that’s about it for now. All replies greatly appreciated. More on software update when abroad
Hi all, So, in the midst of yesterday’s mess with my husband’s iPad, he decided to install the latest iPadOs update. It went off without a hitch, so I decided to google updating IOS when abroad. According to what I found from various sources, the update is based on the system that you are currently running, not the country where the phone is located. I just installed the update on my phone, and everything went fine. Just thought this might be useful information for someone else at some point. Cheers, Donna P.S. Brad, just as an FYI, unfortunately, setting software updates to off does not stop the constant alerts. **sigh* -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Temporarily changing iPhone region
Hi all, OK, so now that I don’t have to worry about the update … I’d like to purchase some music while I’m in Italy. Any reason why I can’t—or shouldn’t—temporarily change my phone’s region so I can access the Italian iTunes Store? What VPN service are people using?
Hi all, So I’m reading that you can bypass country restrictions by using a VPN. Thinking about giving it a try. What VPN are people here using? Any accessibility issues?
