Re: Sort Order in Mail

2017-02-06 Thread Jonathan Cohn
In most applications that have a sortable table, you would go to the table
header with the "Go to Header" voiceOver command (vo-vertical bar or
vo-shift-backslash) and then navigate to the date column and click it.

In mail which has a "sort pop up button" this is a bit easier to do. Click
the sort button and then move to the bottom of the list of sort options.
There you will find Oldest on top or newest on top.

Re: Sort Order in Mail

2017-02-06 Thread E.T.

Wonderful. That should do it nicely. Thanks.

Another question that I came across while working in Mail . Email
providers have their own labels for standard mailboxes, like Sent, Sent
Messages, Sent Mail. I selected the labels I want in Mail preferences.
Can I remove or at least hide the other labels? I got an error when I
tried to remove one.

Re: Sort Order in Mail

2017-02-06 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Since you mentioned "labels" I am thinking perhaps you are using Gmail.
There is a place in Gmail settings to hide a specific label from IMAP
folders. I can't remember if this is a standard option or one that needs to
be enabled in experimental mode.

I don't think there is a way to hide specific folders in the Mail
application, though you might be able to fudge things with creating smart
folders that meet your needs and then closing the provider tree.

I thought I would revisit this again just now. I actually was able
to delete some, both in Charter and in iCloud. Gmail is fine as its not

Two I cannot remove from Charter are Spam and Sent Mail. I can live

adjusting volume control on the TV player website

2017-02-06 Thread aliFaisal
Hello everyone,
I am a TV player subscriber here in the UK, and I am trying to access the TV
player website. I am logged in, and can access the channels, but I am having
difficulties adjusting volume control. the volume control appears as just a
button, and it says mute, but I cannot figure out how to adjust the slider.
I tried interacting with it, clicking on it, etc, but nothing is working.
the website is www.tvplayer.com .
If anyone can provide some insight on how to adjust the volume on the site, I
would very much appreciate it.

Hi!
A new public beta of Ios is released.
But my Iphone and Ipad 2 cannot find them.
So i guess i have to login to my beta account again.
But to my surprise they protected it with the verification code.
And when i type that in it seems not to work.
Does anybody know how long they work each verification code?

Re: adjusting volume control on the TV player website

2017-02-06 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi,

I've just tried this on the page you've given, and as you say, I can't seem to
find a way to change the volume other than increasing the volume on my mac.
I've asked the same questions considering sliders on this list before and I've
had no response. I just don't know how to deal with sliders. I may have to
write to accessibil...@apple.com

Sorry I can't help.

The case needs to be open and the airpods need to be connected to the iPhone.
However, it is not necessary to actually have an airpod in one's ear.

Go to settings, general, about, and one will find an airpods button near the
bottom of the screen. Double-tap on this and the desired information screen
will appear.

Yes it does,

You have to boot the machine to the USB I’d use the option key at
start up, just hold option down for approx. 20 seconds and then let it
run for a while .

You then have to select the USB device as the start up option and then
once it has run up you can start vo and use disk utilities to format
the existing drive and then reinstall from scratch.

Hi, This is already done. Here is the question. Will this work with
forating the internal drive for reinstall. I just used disk makerX
for this. I just wanted to be sure that It work for doing a clean
install for erasing and repartitioning the drive if this makes any sense.

Hello Matthew,

I just use Terminal for this. You need an 8 gb USB drive named
Untitled for this to work.

Connect the USB drive then open Terminal and type in or copy and
paste the following command:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\
Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
/Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\
Sierra.app —nointeraction

Press Return and you’ll be asked for your password.

Give it plenty of time to do its thing. You’ll hear:

Erasing Disk: 0%… 10%… 20%…100%… Copying installer files to disk…
Copy complete. Making disk bootable… Copying boot files… Copy
complete. Done.

The resulting drive will be called Install macOS Sierra.

Cheers,

Here is my question, Is anyone still using recovery disk

I do use the usb installer if lets say something happens and I

update? I did listen to mike area’s podcast on upgrading and
he used recovery disk assistant to make a bootable recovery
but on my machine It doesn’t work. Thanks again for

airpods not working with mac book pro

2017-02-06 Thread kary johns
Hi all,
Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this problem, or has any
idea what to do about it.
I bought the AirPods recently. They paired fine, and work perfectly
with my iPad and iPhone. But when I come to try and use them with my
mac, it’s a hole other story.
The mac says there connected, and I get the connection sound through
the airpods.
But voiceover and all sound continues to come through the macs
internal speakers.
On the one occasion sound came through the airpods, it was
intermittent, and reverted completely to the macs speakers after only
a few moments.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour?
Kari.

RE: Frustrated beta user.

2017-02-06 Thread Simon Fogarty
Activation code?

Not sure what you mean by that as I didn't get asked for an activation code
when installing IOS 10.3 beta.

Could it be that you have 2 factor authentication enabled and that is
requesting a code which is a 6 digit number before you can install the update?

Or the pin code for your phone, which you do get asked for before the install
starts but that should be very obvious when asked for that.

Hi!
A new public beta of Ios is released.
But my Iphone and Ipad 2 cannot find them.
So i guess i have to login to my beta account again.
But to my surprise they protected it with the verification code.
And when i type that in it seems not to work.
Does anybody know how long they work each verification code?

Are you under the develper group or are you just a regular beta user. If a
regular beta user the beta isn’t here just yet but has been released to
developers.

If not then you will have to update as the pods only work with Sierra on the
