Reading by paragraph in Scrivner
To any scrivner users out there. I can't figure out how to read by paragraph. VO plus p reads the current paragraph, but does not allow skipping forward or back by paragraph. The normal command used in Pages only reads the first line of a paragraph and then stops. Any advice? Thank you -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Safari on iOS not prompting to save passwords anymore
They used to be when I logged onto a website and enter the password etc. I would be asked if I'd like to save that password. Now since buying my 6S plus, I don't seem to have that capacity I type in a password to a website and it's not asking me to save them. Nor is it auto filling sites that use to fill with password and logon ID. What setting do I need to use to get this functionality back? Re: Safari on iOS not prompting to save passwords anymore
Settings, Safari, Passwords & Autofill. Turn on the switches for the things you want autofilled (I like all of it). You don’t have to use iCloud Keychain (I don’t), but it helps if you have multiple devices and don’t enjoy the tedium of re-entering data. You can get the data across in other ways too, for example by restoring the backups of devices. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Strange Behavior On My Mac
Hello list, I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before on their Mac? I'm running OS X 10.11 (latest release) When I go into my home folder on Finder, it lists all of my music files as if they aren't in the music folder. In otherwords, I hit CMD+shift+H, and it says my username. Yet, when I arrow down in the home folde rlist, it lists a bunch of MP3 files outside of the music folder. When I go to terminal and type in LS to list, and type in ls *.mp3, it says that no mp3 files exist. Bash: *.mp3: No such file or directory. When I finally am able to go to my music folder by, from within finder, from the desktop, hitting CMD+shift+G, typing in ~/music And hitting enter, I see my MP3's fine. If I delete an mp3 from within my main user directory, it deletes it from within the original music folder also. Yet, if I go into terminal (see above), to list MP3's, from within the home directory, it doesn't see the MP3's. If I CD to music in terminal and list MP3 files, terminal displays the list fine. As a test, I copied an MP3 to my desktop so I won't lose it, deleted the MP3 from my home folder, then, went from finder's, go to folder option, to music, and the MP3 deleted from the user folder was gone from music. Successful with the test, I put the deleted MP3 back into music, closed finder completely, went back into my home folder, and the deleted MP3 shows up in my home folder and in the music folder. If anyone has had this issue, I'd appreciate any help as to how to fix it. P.S.: I never pasted any of my music out side of the music folder. Looking at the home folder list shows folders like, desktop, documents, downloads, drop box, all at the top, however if I use letter navigation, like hitting d, r, o, to jump to drop box, it lists an MP3, and I have to start over at the top of the list to find the Drop Box folder. Thanks for any help that can be provided. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Re: Safari on iOS not prompting to save passwords anymore
OK, I've done the following and still no go: Made sure that auto fill was set correctly in Safari settings Turned on keychain Logged out of, and then back into iCloud rebooted the phone I then went to a website, Comcast.com, and logged in, and still I was not prompted to save the password. I've checked passwords in Safari settings and nothing there has been saved. For some reason I cannot get Safari to prompt me to save passwords when I visit in log into websites. I may have to call Apple support next, but I'm hoping someone here has an answer. Re: Improved cellular on iPhone 6s
You absolutely are. The improvement in cell performance from the 6 to 6s /+ is quite significant. The main improvement is the inclusion of many more frequency bands so the phone can join on to more networks and use more facilities on these networks. For example, T-Mobile network on the 6s+ is accessible on band 1, 2, 4, 12 and several others. The key here is band 12. This is a lower frequency band that penetrates buildings better and traverses longer distances. There’s less bandwidth unless you bond channels (Which T-Mo does) but it’s more robust than the higher frequency all be it faster signals. AT&T is similar. They have added new spectrum and turned up more of this spectrum so the latest phone takes advantage of this and is likely joining new towers you didn’t have access to or using a range that is more suited to your geographic and signal propagation conditions. On top of this the sensitivity is greater, LTE features more plentiful and in general Qualcomm did a great job on the radio in the 6S. > On Dec 24, 2015, at 8:35 PM, Phil Halton wrote: > > I just bought a 6S plus and check my status line and saw that I had four out > of five bars with AT&T in my home. Password prompting solution in safari iOS 9
I found the solution to the problem more safari would not save her offer to save Password in for Maisch and on websites. Everything was set up correctly, auto fill, keychain, etc., the problem is that private browsing was turned on and safari. Once private browsing is turned on safari. Will not save password information and other things as well. Private browsing is turned on or off in safari on iOS under the pages tab at the bottom left along the bottom row there is a private button then the new page button followed by the done button tapping private will turn private browsing on and off, who knew? Boy oh boy, was the setting very deep. And, just to find the information about private browsing took me a couple of hours of web research. Re: Instant pot multi use appliance with accessible iPhone app
Just remember, it is Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. Some of the reviewer's were complaining, saying they should've gone for Wi-Fi, because then you could do stuff with the device while at work. Not so sure about that. Do you really want to leave stuff sitting in a pot all day and then turn it on while you're at work? Don't think so. Anyway, it is Bluetooth and not Wi-Fi. Re: Instant pot multi use appliance with accessible iPhone app
Bluetooth is still cool but I think I’m with others where WiFi would have been preferable. I might not kick something off while at work but I might want to check in on something that’s going while I’m out. I’m lucky to live in a brand new town house so we have sprinklers and all the WiFi enabled options. Since I have such access to the alarms and other systems I wouldn’t be worried about the fire concerns of not being home because I have emergency cutoffs on everything. Bluetooth is good though, as long as their’s a means of access. > On Dec 25, 2015, at 11:02 PM, Mary Otten wrote: > > Just remember, it is Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. Chris. - Original Message - From: "Mary Otten" To: ; ; Sent: Thursday, December 24, 2015 8:50 PM Subject: Instant pot multi use appliance with accessible iPhone app Hi all, There has been a lot of talk on certain cooking related websites this past year about an appliance known as an instant pot. It is a multi use appliance, which combines the functionality of slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker, sauté pan, and some other stuff. I was interested in this device, until I finally found an article that went into enough detail to convince me that it would not be usable by a blind person. Then just today, I found a podcast done by Victor Saren on applevis. He demonstrates the Bluetooth app which makes the most expensive variant of the instant pot accessible to blind people. This is not a cheap appliance. But it may be under someone's Christmas tree tomorrow. I would be very curious if there's anyone on any of these lists who has or will be getting this pot and how you like it and the app. There are recipes on the instant pot website. And I have found some recipes on another website. You can also adapt pressure cooker recipes for it, but it cooks at a slightly lower pressure than the usual stovetop pressure cookers. The app also lets you enter your own recipes. There is also going to be or is, an android app Mary Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Re: Improved cellular on iPhone 6s
I’d be interested how that works out for you. It’s also of course possible they just installed a new tower near you. You could run test mode but test mode in the iPhone is fairly unreliable and can report false readings. Let us know how you make out with the service. > On Dec 25, 2015, at 9:14 PM, Phil Halton wrote: > > Thanks Scott that's very useful information.
