How do I open an e-mail attachment on my iPad mini 2 in IOS8.1?

2014-10-25 Thread Eleanor Roberts
Hi all

Just wondered if anyone could help me. A colleague has e-mailed me a document
as an attachment, but I can't seem to be able to open the attachment on my iPad
mini since upgrading to IOS8.1. Could anyone remind me/give me some guidance on
how to do this please??

Many thanks.

Use a three finger vertical swipe until the last page of the email is on the
visible screen. Double-tap or split-tap on the attachment button.

changing the default incoming call sound for Skype on a mac

2014-10-25 Thread Dean Adams
Hi All,
Just incase you may not like the default sound that skkype uses for its
event’s like incoming call you can change it with the following method you will
have to have a sound with an M 4 A extension which can be from you ringtones by
making a copy of it and changeing the exxtension by pressing edit and changing
the extension from m 4 R to M 34 A .

Changing the default ringing tone in Skype for the mac

1: go to the Skype preferences with command comma
2: once preferences is open go to the notifications press VO space bar to
select. stop interacting with the tool bar VO right arrow to details and event
there is an event called incoming call , VO right arrow incoming call which is
just after play sound VO space bar to bring up the sound selection menu .
3: Go to the bottom of that list and there is an add slash remove button V O
space bar to select a new window comes up if you have not added any new sounds
the table will be empty .
4: VO right arrow to the add button then navigate to the sidebar interact with
VO shift down arrow navigate to the music or wherever you store any music or
sounds with an m4a extension select the one you want then stop interacting and
VO right arrow to the open button .then VO right arrow to the done button.
5: Now you will have a sound to choose from instead of the normal default one,
you can do this for any of the events .
6: Just to finish if you have any ringtones with an m 4 r extension just copy
it to a different folder and press edit on it and change the extension from M 4
R to M4 A.

How do I add a recipient in the Messages app?

2014-10-25 Thread Donna Goodin
Hi all,

How do I add a recipient from contacts when composing a new message in the
messages app? What I've done is:
1. Click Add recipient.
2. Type the first letters of the contact name in the search field.
3. Arrow over and interact with the list of suggested names.
4. this is where I get stuck. I highlight the contact, but nothing I do seems
to select it. I've tried pressing space, enter, and VO-Space, all with no luck.

Appreciate any help.
Best,
Donna

Re: How do I add a recipient in the Messages app?

2014-10-25 Thread Donna Goodin
Well, I'm trying to do it on the Mac, not on an IOS device. I've never had
trouble adding recipients on an i-device. To do that, you just move to the
contact you want in the list, double tap them, and when their contact opens up,
just select the number or email you want to use.
Cheers,
Donna

I just tried it, and it works exactly like it does in Mail. Type a name, and
Messages will pull it from your contacts, offering a list of matches to what
you typed. Up or down arrow through them, enter to select one.

Re: Impressions of iCloud Drive so far?

2014-10-25 Thread Alex Hall
It uses the iCloud storage every Apple ID receives, sharing that with iCloud
Mail, iOS backups, and anything else.

The way iCloud used to work was as a syncing service, letting, say, Text Edit
access any documents stored in iCloud by Text Edit, or Pages get to any files
stored by Pages. The problem was that any modifications would leave you with
two copies of the file. Plus, no app could see the files stored by any other
app, and no custom folders were allowed at all. Now, with iCloud Drive, you can
set up your own folders, and any edits made to a file are to *that file*, not
to a copy of that file made by the app doing the editing.

 Hi all,
I (perhaps unwisely) use Dropbox as primary storage for my files, with the

can pay for storage with my iTunes account.

Before I do, I'd like to hear how others have found the service so far, if
you use it. There was that bug that caused some folders to be erased if you
did a settings reset on iOS, but aside from that I've heard nothing bad.
Still, what do you think? Will you use it now, or wait? If the latter, why?
Any accessibility problems (I expect not, but one never knows)?

Oh, interesting. It works just like you say if you type the name in the Too

Subject: How do I add a recipient in the Messages app?

 Hi all,

How do I add a recipient from contacts when composing a new message in the
messages app? What I've done is:
 1. Click Add recipient.
 2. Type the first letters of the contact name in the search field.
 3. Arrow over and interact with the list of suggested names.
 4. this is where I get stuck. I highlight the contact, but nothing I do
seems to select it. I've tried pressing space, enter, and VO-Space, all
 with no luck.

 Appreciate any help.
 Best,
 Donna

Re: unlabelled buttons in yosemti mail

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Ahh, got it. I seemed to be looking for those buttons when I was opening a
conversation. They don’t appear for me when opening a group of messages, only
when I open a message that is alone. Interesting though, that it took me that
much work to find something that was bothering many. I guess others must
navigate Mail differently so that would be an annoyance to them. I believe
that it should be addressed and Apple should label those buttons, but it
doesn’t and likely won’t affect me considering the style of navigation within
Mail that I’m accustomed to. Thanks for the info Cheryl.

Yosemite do you think this was a simple oversight on the part of Apple
accessibility or do you think this is something we as voiceover users are
going to have to learn to deal with?

Re: I love Yosemite so far but:

2014-10-25 Thread Cheryl Homiak
If it takes a long time, you may want to repair permissions more than once. And
if it gives you an error or still is sluggish after repairing permissions,
maybe do it from another drive or from within your recovery partition. I didn't
go that far but I did repair permissions two or three times and now my only
real problem is that sometimes I lose speech and/or arrowing usually in mail.
Certainly your old mac mini could be the problem but given that lots of people
are having sluggishness issues I wouldn't make that decision too quickly. Also,
are you using a monitor? If so, make sure it is connected and working.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

Yosemite not keeping network connection, and persistent snail-slow download speed

2014-10-25 Thread Mark Baxter
Whenever I put my Macbook Pro15 (4G RAM) to sleep after upgrading to Yosemite,
when I wake it up, my WIFI menu extra panel says “looking for network …” The
only way to fix this seems to VO-space-bar on the network which already has a
check mark by it, E.G. my wireless cable Netgear modem. Any way I can fix
this, or is it just a ghost in the machine?

I have also noticed persistently super-slow download speeds, when I have a
60-MBPS cable connection and 4/4 WIFI connection. Is there somewhere in Safari
prefs that I can’t find which governs this?

Thanks.

Re: about Cloud drive

2014-10-25 Thread Alex Hall
iCloud pricing has come down. If memory serves it is now:

5GB: $0 per month
20GB: $0.99 per month
200GB: $3.99 per month
500GB: $9.99 per month
1TB: $19.99 per month

This is more expensive than Dropbox, but it does let you keep everything in one
place, from your iOS cloud backups to emails to files and folders. Signing into
your iCloud account and enabling Mail is all it takes to get your mail set up
and on your new (or newly clean-installed) device. Now, the same is true of
your iCloud files. No more downloading and configuring Dropbox, just enable
include Drive and you're done. Of course, Dropbox is far easier to set up than
a mail account, but you get the idea.

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread Cheree Heppe
Cheree Heppe here:
Even with the problems listed over a wide range of applications, I updated one
of my iOS devices last night. If what I am learning about 8.1 is symptomatic,
I think blind users can kiss good Apple access good-bye.
One area: I remember getting my first iPhone and, in extreme skepticism and
with the half-done, JAWS and PC based accessibility as a precursor experience,
decided to find out whether the Wallpapers section gave access, or merely lip
service to Universal Design.
How amazed and delight I felt when each photo featured an artistic and pleasing
description of the photo. The description didnt just say photo dot png or
stick in woods dot whatever, these descriptions went that extra step that
separates accessibility wannabees from practitioners of Universal Design.
In 8.1, I opened the Brightness and Wallpapers section on my iPad 2. Every
photo gave those hald done, cursury, non-descriptive labels characterized by no
info, ugly word choice to mirror the photo and the png ending, just to make
sure anybody who cant see the png knows this isnt for them.
It is my intention to cancel my order for an upgraded iPhone 6 and not to
upgrade to iOS 8 point anything.
The voices on iOS 8 point whatever sound modified. They sound artificial and
there is no longer the ease of switching between voices. Switching between
voices has now become a secret process, or, at least, unavailable to me, a
blind user.
My thoughts, but, I am leaning toward making a change before the whole
archology goes south.

Sad and very disappointed. Aple has had access to some really discerning,
brilliant blind users who could give really cogent advice in the best user
mode. I guess that isnt who is being listened to.

Careless, sloppy, inattention to detail. Disregard for user specific needs.

Very sad.

Bye-bye.

Regards,
Cheree Heppe

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread Pamela Francis
I have a friend who had a similar experience both with the OS and and
accessibility representative.
He wrote a letter to accessibil...@apple.com I also wrote my own letter to
them expressing my displeasure with their most recent update. I don't think
either of us got a response, however you might want to try posting that note on
their Facebook page.
If you thinking of converting, check out the Samsung galaxy S5. I did. You will
have very similar if not in some areas superior accessibility than is currently
available in 8.1

Re: Yosemite not keeping network connection, and persistent snail-slow download speed

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,
Retina Display one. The reason I’m asking is that if it is the Retina Display
unit, you could make sure Power Nap is enabled from within your Energy Saver
pane of System Prefs. This will ensure your WiFi connection is maintained. I
was having ann issue like that with some MBA 11” at work and the Power Nap
fixed that problem. Regarding slow download speeds, a number of factors could
be in play here. If you have a ISP that is a Cable company, those sorts of
Internet connections tend to share bandwidth within a local area, thus, even
though you may have the 60 MB connection, many others in your neighbourhood may
be using the bandwidth at the junction point. In this scenario, a bottleneck
is created at the junction point so you don’t get your full bandwidth down the
pipe even though you have the good bandwidth right at your modem. Other
factors that may affect your download speed include WiFi interference where if
you have a considerable number of WiFi networks in the near vicinity. The
interference causes degradation in your WiFi’s ability to move data quickly.

HTH.

Re: iTunes 12 Questions

2014-10-25 Thread Barry Hadder
Hello again.

I realize that this thread is about your problems with iTunes, but I feel that
something I suggested needs correction.
I suggested that it is a good idea to leave your Mac on over night in order for
certain maintenance scripts to run or to run them manually. It turns out that
you don’t have to do that with OS X 10.6 or later. If any of the mentioned
scripts miss there schedule, they will now run whenever they can. So that
isn’t anything anyone needs to think about anymore.
Good luck.

On Oct 24, 2014, at 8:30 PM, Barry Hadder wrote:

I am not getting that behavior at all.
Sounds to me like something is wrong. Have you tried running disk utility?
How old is your mac?

Also, you will occasionally want to leave your Mac on over night so that the
system can run certain maintenance scripts that are by default scheduled from 3
AM to 5 AM. You can also manually run these scripts by opening terminal and
typing:
sudo periodic daily weekly monthly

They do things like getting rid of old log and temp files.

You also might try manually downloading iTunes and reinstalling it.
These are only suggestions. I have know idea what your problems are. I can
only tell you that what you describe is not happening for me and I am using a
mid 2011 MBP.

Re: I love Yosemite so far but:

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi Ray,

That model of MBP is quite easy to upgrade RAM in and doubling your RAM to 8 GB
would likely see marked improvement in performance. The upgrade in RAM would
also be a fraction of the cost of a new Mini or other Mac. I’ve upgraded a
couple of MBP’s this way with SSD’s and maxed out the RAM giving them new life
and amazing speed improvements.

Re: Yosemite not keeping network connection, and persistent snail-slow download speed

2014-10-25 Thread Mark Baxter
Hi!
I can’t find a “retina display one,” but I did change my graphics settings from
“better battery life,” to “power performance.” Not sure if this is what you’re
talking about, but it’s in Prefs/Energy Saver. Also, another repair
permissions and restart may have fixed at least the network acquisition issue.
As for the choke points along cable systems, I haven’t had much problem with
this until now. Out of curiosity, I just went to
www.speedtest.net
and ran their test. All the columns came up “N/A.” I cannot understand why.
Hmmm.

Re: Yosemite not keeping network connection, and persistent snail-slow download speed

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

What I mean by Retina Display one is the Retina Display model of MBP. The
Retina Display units came with a built-in SSD, no CD/DVD optical drive and,
when in the Energy Saver pane, there is an option called Power Nap which allows
your Mac to do things like Time Machine backups while the lid is down or the
unit is asleep. If you don’t have that option, then you likely have an older
MBP without those features.

Yes, it’s an MBP15 from about 2008. Most troublesome right now is Safari’s

I get “empty HTML content.”

Quite true Tim: however, this baby has a major issue which would, once I paid
for the repairs, cost much more than a new mini modified to my liking. The
issue is this. ON the built in keyboard, the following keys are not working:

x s w 2 escape tilda and tab. In order to fix that, I'd have to have the
entire top of the unit replaced at a cost of no less than $3.00 or so. Also,
the output jack on the left side is a bit out of alinment, and, since the jacks
are printed in to the logic board, I'd have to spring for a new logic board at
about the same cost.

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi Cheri and All,

In my opinion, you have made some inaccurate assertions here. The quality of
the voices that you’ve expressed is likely due to your iDevice defaulting back
to the low quality, non-enhanced version of the voices. Normal behaviour
during the update process. If you download the enhanced version of your
preferred voice, you’ll find the quality is as good or better than it was in
iOS 7. The download can be achieved in the Settings, General Accessibility,
VoiceOver under the Speech section. Switching between voices is the same as it
was in iOS 7 when your Language preferences are included in the Rotor, which is
also configured in the same area outlined earlier. Regarding the descriptions
of Wallpaper etc, I didn’t notice this and it is disappointing from an
accessibility point of view.

Regarding yours and others opinions on Apple’s commitment to accessibility,
over-exaggeration and inaccurate accusations or assumptions usually don’t go
very far. For example, I had a co-worker that used to put in Work Orders to
our Maintenance department saying that it was so cold in the room that things
were freezing to the floor and other surfaces. Maintenance came over right
away and determined that it was a few degrees colder than she liked. In future
Work Orders, she was not given near the priority attention that she originally
received due to her tendency for over-blowing a situation. While our desires
for accessibility to be perfect and to never get broken in an update is fair,
it’s not likely going to be realized in all cases. Any OS, be it iOS, MacOS,
Chrome-OS or even Windows is a complex, interdependent interaction between
processes. Sometimes the fixing of one factor breaks another. Sometimes it
takes a bit of work by the software engineers to figure out how to make certain
things work properly together. Even with beta-testers galore, not every glitch
is found out prior to release. This sort of thing happens whether it’s an
accessibility feature or just a regular part of the user experience.

For example, tearing into Apple about them changing the look and feel of iTunes
and claiming that they have broken accessibility is an inaccurate statement.
The actual accessibility of iTunes hasn’t changed at all, what has changed is
how we access the various features. How easy it is for you to manage the
changes is not a factor of accessibility, it may be a level of comfort or ease
of use factor, but accessibility in the manner that VO users use the term has
to do with elements being visible and/or usable. The device accessibility
market is by no means particularly mature at this point in time, so, I’d
venture to say that any device we put in our hands will have good and bad with
respect to accessibility. Android this, Windows that, Apple thing-a-ma-bobber
and whoever’s talking which-a-macall-it all work to some respect but have
limitations and/or frustrations. No point in dissing Apple, Google or windows
for that matter, it’s unproductive.

So, after all this, I guess what I’m saying is continue submitting bug reports

bug reports should be clear, expressing the facts of the issue, outlining how
and where it occurs, certainly they can include how it affects your
productivity but exaggeration and accusation need not be a part. Progress is
occurring, will continue to occur and is necessary.

That’s my rant for the week. Have a good day all.

Hi Tim,
Your position is fair. I don't disagree, other thanThe complaints being
registered within bothIOS and Yosemite concern the apps that are shipped on
each respective product. Do we not have reasonable expectation for the
same accessibility for the stock apps included within Apple OS be it OS 10 or
iOS eight? That's my only question. Thanks much

it’s not likely going to be realized in all cases.

Thanks Tim.

There are no updates available and the problem is completely random. I could
be in my mail getting messages, switch to Safari and then it goes out.
Sometimes I can get it back by selecting my network from the menu extras, and
sometimes I have to shutdown and it comes back. It is very frustrating and,
from Googling, many others are having the same issue, but I haven't been able

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread The Believer
My take on this is this. Tim mentioned 'reasonable expectations'.
Not only do we need to keep our expectations to a level that is not
UNreasonable, it also means that when we encounter issues, we also keep
them to a reasonable level when seeking help. Expressing displeasure is
reasonable if its balanced with respect.

If you had looked for a solution to the low quality of speech from
the get go, the outcome would have been much different and you probably
would not have reached the point you did and canceled your order. But
its perfectly ok to do that and go with another company. Its a free market.

I went from 7.1.2 to 8.1 and am perfectly happy with it. So far the
only problem I have is Siri but that has little impact on my iPhone 5's
usability. In a perfect world we would have zero issues with
accessibility but then, in a perfect world, we would not need accessibility.

Hi there folks,

My fiancé is experiencing a rather odd issue with one particular email on her

The expected attachments is also missing.

I sorted the issue by getting the attachment from Mail on her phone to dropbox.
Is there something I can do to fix it on the mac itself?

2014-10-25 Thread Eugenia Firth
I most say I really like pages with the Mac and the 5S together. I just tried
tables, and I finally figured out how to do it. To get out of the cell, you
have to go to the button done button. My next test will beto see if I can
figure out numbers.am I right that if you copy your documents folder to the I
drive that it goes to the cloud and therefore is considered part of your
storage that you are allowed? If that's so, I'll Apple little bit of money.

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
Hi. Well said Tim. Nothing good will come if we're not reasonable. For example,
when I received the first public beta of Yosemite, for some reason Text Edit
wouldn't open any files ending with the .docx extension. I immediately launched
the Feedback Assistant app and reported this bug to Apple. Another bug that was
present in the beta, and I don't know if it's still present today, is when
clicking the lock to make changes in the security tab to allow apps to open
that haven't been downloaded from the App Store, my choice was ignored after
the fact I made the change. If that bug is still present today, I won't be
sitting here moaning to you guys that it's still present and basically bashing
Apple because let's face it, that would be a waste of mine and your time, and
might make some people laugh or maybe angry. Instead, I'll be sending an email
to Apple or if we can still use it even though this isn't a beta, I'll use the
Feedback Assistant to report the bug.
Another point that Tim made is about Apple's commitment to accessibility. I
don't think that it has slid at all. In my 4 years that I've used Apple
products, (4 years on November 3rd), I find accessibility about the same or a
bit better. First I bought this MacBook, then the iPod Nanno, then the iTouch
4, the iPhone 4, 4S, and now 5S. All these devices have done pretty much all
I've wanted them to do. And guess what. My next computer if this white MacBook
goes down the crapper or if Yosemite will be the last operating system I can
upgrade to will probably be a MacBook Air because I know Apple products can get
what I need to be accomplished done. And also like I said in a previous thread,
PC's and I don't get along. :)

Perhaps they are better?

As I said before, I am running 8.1 and notice little difference.
Maybe my own expectations are too low.

during the update process. If you download the enhanced version of your

Regarding yours and others opinions on Apple's commitment to accessibility,

our Maintenance department saying that it was so cold in the room that things

takes a bit of work by the software engineers to figure out how

to make certain things work properly together. Even with beta-testers galore,
not every glitch is found out prior to release. This sort of thing happens
whether it's an accessibility feature or just a regular part of the user

For example, tearing into Apple about them changing the look and feel of iTunes

The actual accessibility of iTunes hasn't changed at all, what has changed is
how we access the various features. How easy it is for you to manage the
changes is not a factor of accessibility, it may be a level of comfort or ease
of use factor, but accessibility in the manner that VO users use the term has
to do with elements being visible and/or usable. The device accessibility

Hi all.

I have been looking at some sound devices. I came across the duet 2 from
apogee, that can run on both macs and IPad/IPhone. I have looked a little on
the IPhone software in simulation mode, and as far as I can tell, it looks

I have also been looking at the quartet sound device from apogee would there be
any differences between duet and quartet when it comes to accessibility.

Best regards Annie.

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread John Panarese
What I find interesting is this notion that we are rewarding or punishing a
company, as if it makes a major difference. The difference is actually five
years ago, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. The fact we even have
access to a touch interface and we've come so far without having to pay
anything extra for it is still something that amazes me.

Also, in six months, the vast majority of the bugs in iOS 8 will be gone
and this whole discussion will be forgotten until people can complain about the
next upgrade. In reality, Microsoft, Google or any other company are no
different and I find it amusing that they re being seen as a better
alternative. At least the iPhone 4S can even run iOS 8. New versions of
Android aren't even supported on phones less than six months old, which is
probably why only 11 percent of Android users actually are running the latest
version of Android and while so may people are jumping from the Android
ecosystem to iOS. Stability and continuity make a big deal if you plan to hold
on to a phone for two years and still want to use the latest software. But,
there are options and choices, and that's what makes technology progress
further for us all.

VoiceOver says “Fetching…”, and there is a second or so delay before the list
of applications appears. Are others experiencing this? Is it that the list is
not appearing for a few seconds, or just that VoiceOver isn’t able to detect
the list?

Hi,

Try using the Window Chooser, VO-f2-f2. I'll bet that there's the "What's New

Still can't use mail after upgrade to Yosemity

2014-10-25 Thread Kristeen Hughes
Hi,
I have written about this before, but basically the mail app is useless. it is
busy always. I have repaired disk permissions several times. Reboots of the
machine do not help. I have deleted my account and rebuilt it. I have no
problems with anything else. I have 16 gig of memory and this Mini runs like a
dream. It’s just the mail app. I’m frustrated beyond reason. Does anyone have
any idea what is happening, and what I might do?

2014-10-25 Thread Nicholas Parsons
It happens with me regularly. Sometimes the delay is longer than others. I
wonder if it depends on how recently you’ve opened that type of file in a
different application, or how many applications you have that can open that
type of file.

Also, interested in whether anyone with good vision can tell whether the delay
affects the GUI or just VoiceOver. That will determine whether I report this to
Apple Accessibility or Apple’s general feedback mechanism.

Hi,

First, I’d try creating another account on your computer. Go under System
Prefs to Users & Groups, click to unlock the preference, then click on the Add
User button. After the user has been created, logout of your current user and
login as the new user. Try using Mail from within there and see if it behaves
similarly. If it works properly, then we’ll have to play with some things in
your original account, otherwise, there’s something corrupt with your Mail app,
which is highly unlikely.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: iOs 8.1 performance on iPhone 4S

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

In response to Pam’s question from way back in this thread, you’re absolutely
correct in that there should be a reasonable expectation for accessibility
within Apple’s stock apps. Apple has been put to task for this in the past
prior to iTunes becoming accessible and, with respect to their iWorks apps.
Huge improvements have been made, but, expressing dissatisfaction with
accessibility elements being broken, or, desire for improvements to
accessibility is perfectly fine and reasonable, in my opinion. The manner in
which these issues are addressed and communicated is what often concerns me,
but, again, these are my opinions.

In response to Karen, I can only answer from my own prospective. In the case
of iOS 8 and Yosemite, there were some really exciting new features that I felt
would be useful to me and thus wanted to use in my day to day activities.
Also, my role and position require me to be current with technology related
hardware and software. I’m usually quite adept at tech related things as well,
so working around the issues or possibly needing to downgrade is not usually a
problem for me.

Re: transferring music from MBP to iPhone via ITunes

2014-10-25 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

The best way, in my opinion, is to place these items into a playlist, then sync
that playlist with your iDevice. This is accomplished from within iTunes when
you’ve brought focus to the configuration options of your iDevice.

Yes iOS 8.1 is a one way trip and no it is no longer possible to downgrade to

Perhaps the problem begins by assuming that there is such a thing as
"the
blind," uniformly using choosing and personifying a single individual.
There will be people who find the upgrade very wonderful for them, there
will be, are clearly, individuals who do not.
that has zero to do with blindness and 100% to do with individuality. A
fine thing thank you very much, its what makes us human and uniquely
interesting at a party.
I have a slightly silly but very sincere question...perhaps best addressed
to Sir. Tim off list.
Consider it to be rhetorical.
If you have a device that meets most of our needs, allowing you to compute
as you desire, why would you decide to upgrade to something that might not
meet your needs in the same way? and without being sure in advance you
will not lose ground? Especially since, as I understand it,
downgrades are well rather a challenge?
I am forthright about my alternative dictionary. still because I prefer a
steady reliable and firm tool...say like a hammer or screwdriver, I do not
personally decide I need to change my entire computer foundation unless
there are things I can no longer do with that foundation.
Speaking only for myself, which frankly goes for humans in general, I
find this a more practical way to keep things on target professionally.
The so called the blind should take what they are handed concept refers to
a nonexistent hypothetical entity that is totally interchangeable...at last
count having 400 million pairs of feet. if that
does not sound like you, make your own computer choices.
Just my far from the insider take,
