Hi,

Try using the Window Chooser, VO-f2-f2.  I'll bet that there's the "What's New 
in Pages" dialog there but focus was not initially brought to that 
dialog/window.  Once you locate that dialog/window and close it, you should be 
able to Quit Pages as well.
