Re: AccessNote

2013-02-05 Thread Annie Skov Nielsen
Hi.

I just hope that there will be developed much more on this program. It is a
great app, but with some serious problems too. The price is ok for me, but with
such a price for an app, you need to continue with the development, I remember
indaisy, we paid so much for the app, suddenly it was taken of the shelf, only
an example.

I will contact the developer of accessnote, to point out some difficulties in
the app, and then I hope there will be done some further development.

I have not found other apps in which you can search for text, that is an
enormous advantage.

Best regards Annie.

Re: Jailbreaking?

2013-02-05 Thread Michael Babcock
If you didn't hear my podcast yesterday, you can download it from the link in
my signature. It is very easy to jailbreak, the process this is most easiest it
has ever been.
You have access to applications, that you don't get access to on the default
iOS. For example, I have an application called privacy protection, that
randomizes my location information whenever an app asked for it. And last, I
allow that up to receive my real location information.
Additionally, jailbreaking your device allows you to access the city store,
"please pardon the spelling", which provide you access to thousands and
thousands of Ringtown.
In addition, you have the ability of steaming your device. For example, I found
a theme yesterday, that made my device look like the android home screen Julian
Granted, it wasn't accessible when it looks like the android home screen.
In addition, my friend Christopher Gilland advised me that foreclose on the
iPad, who lost the weather, and stocks application with the iOS six upgrade,
receive those applications again on the iPad. Understand, I don't have one and
M unable to verify these claims myself personally.
Disadvantages to be honest with you are only related to if you have a warranty.
And then there really isn't any disadvantages. Especially now that we have an
untethered jailbreak, which means you don't have to connect your phone to a
computer to restart it now
Anyways, I wouldLike it if you had a nice day

Re: Podcasting client for the Mac. Any suggestions?

2013-02-05 Thread Søren Jensen
Hi.
I've been searching for the same, but can't find anything which is really good.
The only app I can find is called Podcast player pro, which you can buy from
the app store. But don't expect a nice app. It's a bad designed web-based app,
or it seems to be. As I'm writing this, I've tried to stream directly from the
app, but it won't work. I'm using the app to download podcasts which don't work
well either, but I've found a workaround. :)

Re: Jailbreaking?

2013-02-05 Thread Emilio

Hello Rich and others,

Jailbreaking while not a welcomed option for everyone does have benefits.

Like many users on this list have already shared, jailbreaking offers the
user customization capabilities such as installing programs that are not
available through the App Store.

Personally, I find that “Poof,” gives me the option to hide unnecessary
stock apps, or apps that otherwise I feel clutter my springboard. While
hiding selected apps, the functionality thereof is not lost. For instance,
if I choose to hide the “contacts” app or the “notes” app, I can still
access these apps via spotlight.

“Folder close,” is another jailbreak tweak that does exactly what the title
suggests. Upon launching an app from a folder I have created, the folder
automatically closes and is not left open, which is opposite to what the
standard practice is without jailbreaking.

Hope this has been helpful.

Re: mac application prismo is half price in Mac app store

2013-02-05 Thread Christina C.
Hmmm, I am not sure I understand what you mean when you say you cannot OCR
within the app. I can OCR within prizmo. If you did not OCR in prizmo than how
did you OCR with Prizmo to compare to abbyy? :) I was hoping Prizmo was a good
trade off because the price for Prizmo was quite a bit less than Abbyy and I
also would not have to purchase VuScan.

I still don't quite get Prizmo yet though. :) I was able to scan within the app
than I was able to perform OCr. Then I Exported it into a PDF. That PDF read
quite nicely in Preview. This is off of VERY limited experience though.

I do want to add that I personally find the User's Guide impossible to
understand. Maybe I'm a ditz but I truly feel it was poorly executed.

Have a super day.

How do I reliably right-click links in Safari using VoiceOver?

2013-02-05 Thread Darrell Shandrow
Hello Everyone,

Can anyone tell me how I can reliably right-click links in Safari to take
actions on them, such as download the associated MP3 file?

Here's what I am trying to do:

1. Visit http://htb2.com/tutorials/mac/
2. Find a MP3 file link on that page.
3. Press VO+Shift+M.
4. Sometimes it works and I see 12 items on that menu. Other times it doesn't
and I only see five items.

Any recommendations for doing this reliably?

Thanks,

Darrell

Re: How do I reliably right-click links in Safari using VoiceOver?

2013-02-05 Thread Michael Babcock
Here are the steps Iteri, and it may be the long, drawnout way.
I find the link, press control, option, shift, you, immediately after that, I
listen to voiceover states "http://"; and I press control, option, shift, see.
I then press command L, and command, V. Holding the option key down, I press
return, this then causes the MP3 file to download. This is the most reliable
way I have found to download MP3 files.
Hope this helps

Re: How do I reliably right-click links in Safari using VoiceOver?

2013-02-05 Thread Maria & Joe Chapman
Hi. I haven't been able to get that to work reliably. I just usually let it
download to my downloads folder and then move it to wherever i want.

You could try interacting with the link then doing a vo shif m but this isn't
always reliable. option enter will get a file every time.

hopefully someone else will have other suggestions.

Polar wearlink heart rate transmitter for nike plus

2013-02-05 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello Everyone.

Just in case no one knows, the Polar wearlink heart rate transmitter for nike
plus is now in the Apple Store to buy. This monitor can be used with your
phone, I Pod Touch and your I pod Nano from six to Seven.

I've already bought mine after patiently waiting as the one I had before didn't
work with my I Pod Nano.

apps, or apps that otherwise I feel clutter my springboard. While hiding
selected apps, the functionality thereof is not lost. For instance, if I choose
to hide the “contacts” app or the “notes” app, I can still access these apps

“Folder close,” is another jailbreak tweak that does exactly what the title

standard practice is without jailbreaking.

Hope this has been helpful.

Re: placing things on the doc

2013-02-05 Thread Esther
Hello Jed,

To place a file or application in the dock, highlight it in Finder,
then press Command-Shift-T. this is a standard Mac OS X keyboard
shortcut.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

I think I did try that, and if I remember correctly, I couldn't get that to do
anything either.

Re: selecting text in mail

2013-02-05 Thread Alex Hall
Just interact with the text and move around in the usual way. Add shift to any
movement command to select, such as shift-cmd-right to select to the end of the
line, then cmd-c to copy. Remember that quicknav must be off, and that pressing
any arrow key without shift, even if it is with another modifier, will
de-select everything.

Re: placing things on the doc

2013-02-05 Thread Alex Hall
Just to add to this, you can shuffle things around once they are on your dock.
On any item, press cmd-option-left to move it one slot left, or
cmd-option-right to move it right. The dock has an area for files and folders,
and another for applications, and you cannot mix these two types of items
together. Also, the Finder icon cannot be moved, at least not that I've found.
Aside from these small items, though, you can move anything anywhere. I have my
dock sorted alphabetically, but you could sort by usage, or whatever you want.

Re: hot to open videos in mactubes.

2013-02-05 Thread Alex Hall
Try just regular space, no vo keys. I've had trouble lately getting that app to
play anything, but a new windows should open at least. Close that with cmd-w
when you are done, or use space to play/pause the video.

Dragon Dictate

2013-02-05 Thread Brandon Olivares
Hello all,

I just got Dragon Dictate version 3 for the Mac today! So far, I am loving it.
I was very nervous, because I have heard there are very many bad reviews online
about this version. However, so far, it has been wonderful!

I am dictating this email with Dragon dictate, and it is going very well it
seems.

I just got it today, so it is still training, but so far it has been very
accurate. It is so fun to play with it!

Brandon
