How to get to the last written cell in numbers?

2012-10-22 Thread Daniela Rubio
Hello all:
Here I come with a simple question, but this is getting me cracy. How do I get
to the last written cell in a numbers table?
This is: If I paste a table from pages to numbers, how can I know where is the
last cell where I find actual data?
Thank you very much for all your help!
Best regards, Daniela

Re: keyboard command to focus active windows?

2012-10-22 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Alex,
it's VO + F2 tweice. You can find all VO shortcuts by pressing VO + h twice.
There you find all VO commands and - as long as available - the determined
shortcut. You can find more shortcuts independent from VoiceOver in the system
preferences under the keyboard tab.
Good luck

Re: How to get to the last written cell in numbers?

2012-10-22 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Daniela,
as far as I know there's no way like in Excel and Jaws to move the cursor to
the last written cel of a column or a row. But if you paste a table from Pages
to Numbers it should have the maximum size necessary for your table. So at
least you got a ruff idea of the demension.
All the best

Hi,
The only problem with Motionx gps-drive as its full name is, is that if you
live outside the United States or Canada, you're out of luck, it's not
available there, and will probably never be. Pity since i live in Sweden and
want an alternative to Navigon and Tomtom, which are the only gps-es we can use
here.

Re: Best GPS for me?

2012-10-22 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Hi there,
Is there any of you Ariadne users who can tell me exactly what the "track
favorites" function does? I have tried to have it on and off and i can see no
difference in behaviour whatsoever. Ariadne tells me if i'm about to pass a
favorite whether the function is on or off, so i can't for the life of me
figure out what the point with the function is.

Re: Best GPS for me?

2012-10-22 Thread Krister Ekstrom
The difference between Blindsquare and Ariadne though is that Blindsquare only
announces street crossings and so forth when you have it set to track a
favorite, whereas Ariadne does it all the time. Blindsquare is a bit more
verbose than Ariadne though, so depending on how much babbling you want, one
app might be better than the other.

Re: how to broadcast on a mac

2012-10-22 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Hi
I tried to see what Ladiocast actually does, but the description is in a
language that has no fonts or so installed, or something like that, because i
get the occational english word and then a bunch of question marks, so i would
be very thankful for a description of what the program is supposed to do. What
i know now about broadcasting on the mac is that there's as far as i know
nothing that even comes close to the ease of use of Station Playlist studio for
Windows. If i'm wrong, please correct me and show me a link to the program you
think does what Station Playlist Studio does. I've seen Nicecasdt, and though
it seems very competent it also seems to be very hard to use and it doesn't
seem to have any cart machines built in.

Problem with lagging in Mail definitely seems to be speech-related

2012-10-22 Thread Cheryl Homiak
If anybody is having the problem with Mail in which messages do not seem to
delete immediately, it definitely appears to me to be a problem with
voiceover's speech either not being able to keep up or interrupt itself and go
on to the next item. When I use braille and mut voiceover, I have no problems
with this issue at all. I'm also thinking that using less lines of preview of
the messages may help but I haven't gotten around to changing this in Mail
preferences yet to try this.

My slightly-used Refreshabraille 18 came with a sleeve but I really wanted a
case for it that it can live in like i have for my braillelite 40. I ordered
one from Aph but got an email back saying the order has been canceled because
the item has been discontinued and there are no more in stock. Does anybody

hours in a working power outlet? ARe the cord's connections secure? Are there

AFter these basic items, has anything recently happened to the machine which

Thanks,

Re: Best GPS for me?

2012-10-22 Thread Ilkka Pirttimaa
Hello! I'm developer of BlindSquare. There is no try-and-buy option
since TTS costs always. You can still use Apple's returning policies,
there is always possibility to return app and get money back.

About what BlindSquare does: It reports automatically street addresses
while you walk, next street crossing, automatic pedometer reading
("you have walked 700 meters in 7 minutes") and reporting of nearby
places by categories (it automatically picks most popular places
within selected radius, based on foursquare check-ins). This all
happens just by launching the app so it takes no time to start using
the app, even if you don't use FourSquare yourself.

If you take phone out of the pocket, you can search categories, set
reporting certain category on/off, "look around" (you get information
what kind of places and what street crossings are in different
directions), search with free search term, view information of places
(name, address, phone number, www-site, twitter feed), start
navigation to the place or do foursquare check-in.

When you jump into the bus, BlindSquare automatically notices it and
starts reporting street crossing while bus is making a turn so you can
keep track where you are.

You can also add placemarks for yourself. They are synced to iCloud so
if you have several devices (for example iPad + iPhone), you always
get informed when you get near that place. Some users use this to give
warning about bus stop they need to get off.

Thanks Vivianna. Since launch (in late May this year) I have published
3 major releases and 4th is under Apple's review. Most of the features
are ideas from real users and I think this is the only way to get
there what title of this thread says :-)

samnet on a Mac?

I just saw a note on the vi-phone list sent by a guy who said he was using his

Re: Trouble reading new bookshare books in xml format

2012-10-22 Thread Harry Hogue
Hi Greg,

I think I just asked this very question, actually. Books I download still come
in a .zip file, and most of them open, but the last couple have come up blank,
except for one which I was able to start reading but now shows up as blank.
Therefore, I don't think it is a Bookshare issue; I tend to suspect a Safari
issue.

Any thoughts or suggestions is grately appreciated. I was right in the middle
of a great book. :)

Re: Trouble reading new bookshare books in xml format

2012-10-22 Thread Christine Grassman
I've noticed recently that when I download a book, I can't easily locate the
xml file by going to the folder. I use Spotlight, write part of the title,
space and then write xml and the file appears as part of the Spotlight list. I
then hit return and Safari opens with the book ready to read. Inelegant, but it
works for me, even with new books.

This does sound like an awesome app, have you thought about developing
an android version as well? One advantage there is that you would not
need to provide a TTS voice because, unlike IOS, developers have full
access to android's TTS services.

Hi Tammy
Yes blind square announces street crossings automatically. You don't have to
push a button to hear it.
It uses its own text to speech voice. Mine is British English. It's very
easy to hear.

Hi
The reason I use blind square is because it gives lots of POIs here in New
Zealand, which Ariadne doesn't. Ariadne is really good at giving street
numbers, and at saying exactly where you are now, but here in NZ it
doesn't give any pois. Blind Square chatters away and gives pois plus
tracks your target in terms of the clock face. I have found it really
accurate here. Both apps do different things.
I don't know how well Ariadne works where you are though,so can't tell
whether Blind Square would give more pois than ariadne for you.

I use navagon, ariadne and blind square. All available from the app

I use Color Visor which is excellent.
The money readers around don't support New Zealand currency so I don't
use one. I'm told Look Tell is very good. just search for Looktell and
find their money reader.

Good luck.

Re: keyboard command to focus active windows?

2012-10-22 Thread Cheryl Ann Homiak

It has to be one of these two from what Alex described:

1. vo-f2 twice and then hit return on desired window: that is the window
chooser and I do use that when I know my window should have changed but my
keyboard focus isn't there or when I think there may be a window I'm not
finding or a diialog I'm not finding though Application Chooser also can
be used for finding dialogs.

2. vo-shift-f2 which brings the window containing the voiceover cursor to
the front, making it the active window.

I believe what the person who tweeted wants is actually vo-f2 because
with trackpad commander, a double-tap on the right side of the trackpad
opens the window chooser.

Re: samnet on a Mac?

2012-10-22 Thread Cheryl Ann Homiak
Yes, it's quite possible, for instance, to go to samobile.net in safari,
log in, and send email from your samobile.net account. That and quite a
few things can be done without whatever is being done experimentally that
works in Chrome. Certainly it would be great to have full accessibility on
the Mac too but quite a bit can be done in safari and probably in firefox
too since it is now somewhat useable.

I just saw a note on the vi-phone list sent by a guy who said he was using

samnet on a Mac. I'm sending this note here in the hope that the gentleman
who sent that note to vi-phone is also subscribed here; the question seems
off topic for vi-phone.

Mary, you can do SamNet on the Mac if you have Chrome. That was me that sends
the messages on the Viphone list that say "Sent From My White MacBook using
SamNet." That is a signature that I programmed into it. I would write to this
list using SamNet, but for some reason, and I don't know why it's not the case
with the Viphone list, but my messages are either delayed or not sent with
SamNet. I hope this clears up any confusion you may have.

Re: Best GPS for me?

Android hasn't been so good for visually impaired but I have tested
latest version and it seems to catch up Apple. It's true what you say
about TTS. In my development version I have VoiceOver -only but it's
just so bad compared to Acapela TTS that I'll not publish it.

If I find a partner or investor to make it possible to hire dev team,
Android version could be possible. Otherwise I'll continue developing
iOS version only -- I have lot of cool ideas how to bring it to the
next level...

Just curious, do you know about cmd-accent? Pressing command with the key above
tab (on U.S. keyboards anyway) cycles through windows in the current
application much like cmd-tab cycles through all applications. You said you

Re: Best GPS for me?

2012-10-22 Thread Mike Arrigo
Hopefully that could happen, an android version of this would be
awesome. As you said, the newest version of android usesthe same
gestures as the iphone and provides the same level of accessibility.
Acapela has just released their voices for android and they can be used
system wide, for screen readers, GPS apps, etc. Why Apple does not
allow third party developers to use their built in voices I have no
idea. What map information does your app use?

Original message:

Android hasn't been so good for visually impaired but I have tested
latest version and it seems to catch up Apple. It's true what you say
about TTS. In my development version I have VoiceOver -only but it's
just so bad compared to Acapela TTS that I'll not publish it.

If I find a partner or investor to make it possible to hire dev team,
Android version could be possible. Otherwise I'll continue developing
iOS version only -- I have lot of cool ideas how to bring it to the
next level...

Re: Best GPS for me?

2012-10-22 Thread Ilkka Pirttimaa
BlindSquare uses OpenStreetMaps. It has better license than Google
Maps. There is also neat data available that BS doesn't use - yet. For
example information about traffic lights and locations of entrances.

I've been also speaking to some members of "OpenStreetMap community".
You can't "ask them" to create new maps as you wish but they love the
idea that when they do add features to the map they can help blind
community.

Re: Changing between itunes libraries.

2012-10-22 Thread Neil Barnfather - TalkNav
As has been suggested, I have one library for 4 iOS devices, all have different
sync profiles in terms of what is and what is not synced.

Simply connect your iOS devices all at the same time and manually manage the
sync for each category rather than saying all.

Batch Exporting In GarageBand

2012-10-22 Thread Gavin Grundlingh
Hi all,

Is there a way, whether with Apple Script or in the terminal, to batch export
each track in a GarageBand project to separate files? I need to do editing in
an external application, and don't want to have to go through having to solo a
track, export it to a file, unsolo it, move to the next one, repeat the
process... for a 57 track song.
