Yep because none of the menu icons work in mac osx. But he made it so that preferences hot keys etc can be seen, and the application works straight from install, as well as with growl if you need to know when you are and how many files you are cutting -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: networking and voiceover and the mac?
A lot of this information can also be obtained from System Preferences under Networking. You could of course go to the Terminal, which is also located in /Applications/Utilities and at the prompt type ifconfig and get all the info about all the network interfaces or ifconfig and the specific network interface to get info just about that interface. In other words, if you can get that info on a windows box, you can get that plus on a Mac box. Terminal provides you essentially a unix shell from which to work. Cody, These questions have ben asked on the list in the past. This list to the best of my recollection is not exclusively just for issues of accessibility. I agree that his questions can be answered by searching the web and there are lots of great sites and electronic materials out there available. So, I think instead of discouraging the questions, let's provide possible sources or encouragement to do a little rtfm before asking questions. Soarting music in iTunes
Hi: I have about 5000 songs in my iTunes library, and am trying to figure out how to soart by artist and albums. For example, if I look up Michael w Smith in the search. I want all of Michael W Smith's music to come sorted by album. So all songs from the album Freedom would be grouped together, all songs from "Healing Rain" album would be grouped together, etc. How can I do this? The view options don't appear to be working. Also how do I get rid of the wd smartware option that also comes up on the desktop when I plug in the drive? I have to use the mac now because ever since that spyware got on my netbook it just totally screwed it up so I'm gunna have to reformat it. Not sure if I'll put xp back onto it or vinux, but that's another matter entirely. I also have a stupid black-armor drive that is not seen by the mac at all. so I gotta wait for someone from voc rehab to reinstall windows7 insto into bootcamp. reading big email digests
Hi When reading big email digests, I usually search for the word topic or a caret or something to go from topic to topic within the digest, but I get so far, go to search for the word again and the mac beeps indicating it cannot be found. but when I scroll down with the arrow keys I find that indeed there are more messages and more topics. So why is the mac searching so far, then kind of lying and saying there is no more carets, or no more occurrences of the caret, or the word topic with a colon after it? I even tried just command f, and command g, with the same results. Re: voice over scripts
unlike jaws, voiceover is not controlled by scripts, this shouldn't be confused with apple scripts which are not the same thing. simply put, if the app is not accessible, the only thing to do is write the developers and tell them to make it accessible. downloading and reading epub ebooks help please?
Hi all. I apologise if this has been covered on this list already, But I've been sick, so haven't been able to keep up with the lists like I usually do, so please bear with me. I'm trying to read epub formatted books I've bought online from Borders, and am not having much luck. I've bought the book, and installed the kobo reader or what ever it's called that the website tells me to install. But when ever I try to download the book the app opens, and all I can get voiceover to say is unknown. So basically can someone tell me how to download and read epub books on the mac? I'd like to be able to transfer them to other devices to, but I'll settle for just being able to read what I've baught Can some one please help, I've been playing with this for nearly 2 days now, and am incredibly frustrated now! Games for Ipod Touch
Hi, Are there any good games for the Ipod Touch. Preferrably not ones that contain dirty humor. It doesn't matter what the genre is. pairing braille connect 32 with a Mac
Hi all, Has anybody paired this display with a Mac? I thought I had it done. Although I failed the first time. The pin is suppose to be 1234. After a failure, I thought I had succeeded. but although the Mac says its paired, I get no output from vo. It works under usb. I have it still plugged in to usb for charging purposes but the display is set for a bluetootn communication channel. Anybody got any ideas? I did eventually just go and unpair, since the pairing wasn't working. but before doing it again, I'd like to hear of others' experiences. Re: voice over scripts
does this mean that the user can not make a particular programme more accessible? Re: voice over scripts
Sometimes you can add some functionality to an application. For example if you come across a button which says "button" and does not read out what the button actually does, then you can manually label that button. First of all whilst on the button press control + option + shift + h to see if the button has a alternative help tag, if so then great we are in business and if not then ask someone sighted to assist you. Whilst still at the non labelled button press control + option + / (slash). you will now be prompted to enter a label for the button. Enter a label and hit return. Now the next time your VoiceOver cursor moves over that button it will be fully labelled and visible to you. You can also label images the same way. Failing that, email the developers of the product and explain the issues you are having with the product and how they could improve the product to enable you to operate it. usually you can find how to contact a developer by going to the About menu item within the product or sometimes it is in the help menu. Failing that use google to find the developers website, or www.versiontracker.com regards Chris On 7 Jul 2010, at 01:02, Cody Hurst wrote: > unlike jaws, voiceover is not controlled by scripts, this shouldn't be > confused with apple scripts which are not the same thing. simply put, if the > app is not accessible, the only thing to do is write the developers and tell > them to make it accessible. > > On Jul 6, 2010, at 7:41 PM, joseph wrote: > >> hi listers, >> >> how can i make applications accessible with voiceover? >> >> regards >> >> -- >> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups >> "MacVisionaries" group. >> To post to this group, send email to macvisionar...@googlegroups.com. >> To unsubscribe from this group, send email to >> macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. >> For more options, visit this group at >> http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. >> > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MacVisionaries" group. > To post to this group, send email to macvisionar...@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. TrackPad and Mail
Hi. I just now got a Macbook Air, it's really amazing, it really is lighter than air! So, this is my first experience with the Trackpad, except for on the iPhone, and I'm wondering if there is a gesture that can be used within mail to jump between the messages table and the messages, to emulate Control Option J. Thanks a lot. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. To post to this group, send email to macvisionar...@googlegroups.com. Re: TrackPad and Mail
I think its swipe left to right twice (can't remember if its 1 or 2 fingers) then swipe down with 2 fingers to read all.
