A lot of this information can also be obtained from System Preferences under Networking. You could of course go to the Terminal, which is also located in /Applications/Utilities and at the prompt type ifconfig and get all the info about all the network interfaces or ifconfig and the specific network interface to get info just about that interface. In other words, if you can get that info on a windows box, you can get that plus on a Mac box. Terminal provides you essentially a unix shell from which to work.
