I was thinking about how to control the feature. I think actually causing the preview to select the correct page is another topic, and I would guess not difficult. One thought is that when the user adds page=N to latex options lyx will notice and modify the preview. That's probably not the best approach IMO because others might reasonably ask, what about other latex options? Instead, suppose page=N is given to lyx through a dialog option, which will then pre-populate the latex options with page=N. I think it is possible to fix this, and my feeling is it isn't that hard (although I'm often wrong on this). I've wanted to work on this, and I don't think it would be too hard. But I will not find the time anytime soon. If anyone volunteers to work on it, I will be happy to provide feedback and testing.
