Why Panasonic did not include a simple one in the box is beyond me. If the client has a network guy, he can set up all the outside stuff and he'll assign you an IP address to put in the TVA50. If you do it that way, it's pretty easy and takes the pressure off of you. Are you a phone guy or a network guy? And are you being paid for both? :) I'd let the network guys sweat the small stuff. Take a screen shot of the setup for the TVA email section and say, "I need these settings". Good luck - BTW - I suggest not auto deleting the original voice message if you "send message with email". KX-T: KX-TD1232 Clock Synch
I noticed the thread several weeks ago regarding KX-TD1232 and daylight savings time and meant to follow up. I wasn't aware that the system could synch its clock with an outside source. Is this possible with the system and the phone lines that we have? If so, how? Re: KX-T: KX-TD1232 Clock Synch
The system requires at least one line with CID for the clock update feature to work. KX-T: Conference callers can't hear each other - KX-TD1232
Hello all. On our KX-TD1232, we have always had a problem when we are trying to make a 3 way conference call. After we have called the other two parties, and then put them into conference mode with each other, we can still hear both of them just fine. They can both hear us just fine. But they cannot hear each other very well at all. We are always having to repeat what one party said to the other one. Is this a common problem? Or is there something we can do about it? Re: KX-T: KX-TD1232 Clock Synch
Thanks, I'll look into the cost and see if it's worth it, as we don't really have another use for caller ID. How are timezones and daylight savings handled? Is it configured on the phone line so that local time is sent, or is there a place in the KX-TD1232 to set the timezone? It just uses whatever time the CO sends along Be aware you need to install a CID card as well. They didn't include one until the -7 revision. Re: KX-T: Conference callers can't hear each other - KX-TD1232
Yes, it's a common problem, here's why: Every call made through the phone company's analog lines is attenuated by a certain amount (I think it's 3db, but I don't recall completely). That amount helps normal calls to sound better (in theory). So when you make a conf call through the ksu, you have two calls through the phone company. You are person A, the first call is person B and the second call is person C. A to B is attenuated the normal amount A to C is attenuated the normal amount B to C is attenuate TWICE and they have a hard time hearing each other. A chip was made for the TD1232 that boosted conference calls by 6db. I think the chip could only work on -4 and higher. I don't know if it is still made but there are probably people selling them on ebay or somewhere, even on this list. It wasn't perfect but it did help. Other solutions include getting 3-way calling from the phone company on certain lines; upgrading to the newer KXTDA system which has improved that feature and can support up to 5 or more on a conference; and lastly, what I often recommend, is learn to use one of the many conference services such as www.freeconferencecall.com They do a pretty good job if the conference members don't mind calling in to a third number. Panasonic KX-T74xx, 72xx are what I would use.
