KX-T: 824 Delayed Hello

2006-02-14 Thread Nick Miller
WOW!! What's up with the analog 824 system not answering incoming calls
immediately, I have 2 customers right now who are forcing me to remove the
system because when they grab the phone and say "hello" they always have
to say hello a 2nd time because it takes that long to connect.

Hard point to argue, thats for sure.

Thanks for the input, that will help with a portion of the clients anyway.
Two words to Panasonic - Why? and Disappointing!

Re: KX-T: 824 Delayed Hello

2006-02-14 Thread Jim Schultz
The system waits to ring until it has caller ID information to display...the
CO sends this as FSK data between the first and second ring.

If the customer doesn't know the first ring ever occurred, what's the
difference?

If you have single line equipment connected ahead of the KSU (unless it an
alarm, TIVO, satellite receiver, etc.) you are missing out on many features
that the system can offer.

I do (DID) mostly TD stuff, but it's my understanding that the TA824 handles
SLT's very nicely...INCLUDING passing CID info to industry standard SLT's..

Re: KX-T: 824 Delayed Hello

2006-02-14 Thread Nick Miller
I will try enabling the Ring Delay for 5 seconds and see if that "masks"
the issue. Amazing to me that Pana. tech support, though they
acknowledge the problem, would not make the same suggestion with given the
pressure we have put on them. Thanks much for the help.
