https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468578 Bug ID: 468578 Summary: Desktop Grid is extremely slow Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.4 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-desktop-grid Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: busvollmita...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Creating two rows of virtual desktops 2. Using Desktop Grid effect OBSERVED RESULT The animation is extremely slow of this effect in particular. [kwin] [Bug 468578] Desktop Grid is extremely slow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468578 --- Comment #2 from marleydq --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Can you be more specific about what exactly is slow? Is the opening/closing > animation? And is it slow, or is it choppy? Or both? https://imgur.com/a/EVP3icF I made a video. First, I use the overview function to show that it works... okay-ish. It works better than how it did on Kubuntu 22.04. Afterwards, I show Grid and it works a lot worse and is extremely choppy, even though it worked fine in Kubuntu 22.04. It might have something to do with some transparency options. Edit: I actually realized that this is an issue with the Lightly Plasma theme, not with Kwin. When I change the theme to Breeze it works flawlessly again. Although it is strange considering I used Lightly Plasma in Kubuntu as well and it was fine there, this is probably not an issue with Plasma itself but rather with the custom theme breaking it. [kwin] [Bug 482564] New: "Overview" doesn't show any additional virtual desktops if there's more than 2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482564 Bug ID: 482564 Summary: "Overview" doesn't show any additional virtual desktops if there's more than 2 Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: effects-overview Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: busvollmita...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- "Overview" is what Plasma shows you when you move your mouse to the top left. It is supposed to show you your virtual desktops and allow you to move between them, but in fact if you have more than 2, it doesn't show any. You have to remove them again to two for you to be able to see the virtual desktops. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 482564] "Overview" doesn't show any additional virtual desktops if there's more than 2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482564 --- Comment #1 from marleydq --- Actually this only happens if you try to put multiple virtual desktops in "one" line. That's the issue -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
